feeder cup placement

I was wondering if there is a preffered location to place a feeder cup, either under the basking light or in a cooler location away from the basking area. If the cup is in direct basking zone, will the heat from the lamp damage or increase death rate of the feeders over time and if that were to happen, would dead feeders potentially hurt cham if fed upon?

I have my feeder cup attached to the side of the cage about a foot and a half from the top of the cage. It's on the opposite side of the basking light. I have two vine "highways" that go to it, one situated to the side of the bowl and one that goes above it so that Moe can choose where he wants to be for the "attack."

I use a milk jug with the handle side cut out and mesh screen lined on the inside. The crickets, dubias, and supers crawl all over it. I attached it to the screen with fishing line. But as far as placement... I put it on the opposite side of the basking spot about 1 foot down from the top and I also make highways of vines right in front of it and it works really well.
