So my special female parakeet laid an egg today! There is never an infertile clutch. For the past three years during the summer she gives us little babies. I am so excited, this will be the third year. Once she had to clutches in one summer:eek:. There usually end up to be two or three. One clutch had five babies! When they hatch I plan to care for one myself. I have experience trust me.;) She once neglected to feed them, so I stepped in and used baby bird formula and all of them survived and grew up. Wish me luck on raising one on my own.:)

Awwww-best of luck to you! Puffy baby birds are the cutest. My Mom used to breed canaries back in the day. I will say there is not much uglier than a newly hatched baby bird-they look like worms with beaks.

i also have canaries that may have babies, but I can't play with those.:D And yes they are little skin bags but cute at the same time. When they develop their feather stubble they are at their cutest.
