Crossing locales

an example of cross breeding locales would be to: breed a ambanja with a nosy be. You are talking about breeding two ambilobes together. They are from the same locale, they just have diff coloration. Locales are where the panthers are collected from. not the colors they posses.

i'd be more interested in what color bar pattern they would tend to show.. or is this how people get the nice purples :p

Ive had, as many others, Ambilobes change their bar color. One male I have started off as a Red Bar. He was beautiful. When he fired up his bars would go from Red to Orange with a yellow background.

I showed him his first "lady" and the bars changed to Blue! Practically right before my eyes. Now, he is showing Blue Bars with a Yellow Background.

cross breeding is fun because you truly never know what they will turn out like.

Well, as long as you are doing it responsibly...being sure to identify them as crosses, keeping track of the parentage, no in line breeding just to get a particular color, etc.

Oh yes. Red + Blue = Purple bars.

(In case you didn't notice the , that was a joke.)
