Could Kami be a Flap Neck?

When I bought Kami, I was told she was a Senegal Chameleon. This seemed plausible, because she looks just like one. Well I went out with some of my buddies that are into reptiles and one of their friends came out with us. It happened to be the guy who imported Kami and sold her to the petstore I got her from. I was telling him about her and he told me that she isn't a Senegal. He said that he imported her as a Flap Neck and that she was from Tanzania. What do you all think? Do you think she is actually a Flap Neck? If not, maybe he's either confusing chameleons or maybe he was actually sent a Senegal by mistake. I did some research and Senegals are only allowed to legally be imported from Ethiopia, Benin, and Togo. If she is actually from Tanzania, then she isn't a Senegal. Here are some pictures of her:

and there are a few more in her album

So what do you all think? Senegal or Flap Neck?

I honestly have no knowledge like that, but I did want to say that she's beautiful! And, you have taken great photos of her!

I also believe that you have a senegal.
I have only had one and I have not worked with the dilepis.
The commonly imported species of C. dilepis have the flap on their neck, which gives them their common name (yours does not).
quilensis is in the dilepis complex and looks a bit like a senegal ... but I do not believe that is your animal.

Thanks Eliza :)

I think she's a Senegal too and he's confusing chameleons. Either that or he ordered a flap neck from Tanzania and was actually sent a Senegal. I've been looking at pictures of flap necks and she doesn't look like one.

What's going on with the end of her nose and lips? Mouthrot/infection?
Did you have it checked out by a vet?

How long have you had her?

her colors and patterns sure look like a flappy but yeah without the flaps she looks more like a senegal. very cute!

Yeah she had an infection about 6 month ago. You were the one who first noticed the bump on her nose, remember? :p It's gone now but her nose never went back to it's original shape. Those are old pictures. I've had her since June.

I thought that was the same chameleon...but I thought it hadn't been treated. Glad to hear that it worked out okay!

Yes poor thing had to take baytril twice because the first course wasn't enough to clear it up. They weighed her wrong and gave her too low of a dose the first time. I check her mouth regularly and it hasn't come back. I was hoping her nose would go back to normal but its ok. I love her anyway even with her funny nose :)

Nice senegal! The best way to tell the difference between flapnecks and senegals is that flapnecks have occiptital lobes and senegals dont, also some male flapnecks have spurs at the back of the feet like veileds.
