Hi, if you can, please help! I am goimg to moveback to Hungary about 3weeks time and looks like then even yemen chameleon needs CITES paper over there! I gotmy chameleons from good breeders and from Hamm, but i never had any paper. Does anyone know how these things work and is it possible to get these papers? Many thnks

You need to contact your breeder to get the papers, that's the only one who can prove the chameleon's origin. Authorities can't reconstruct where the animal came from without breeder's information, so they will confiscate the chameleon in worst case (they can't give you "new papers"). Authority may leave the animal in your care because they surely don't know where to place a confisciated chameleon, but you may get additional requirements, e.g. not to breed with the animal. Well, would be best choice to try to contact the breeder to avoid this.

Don't know why you didn't get the papers from those "good" breeders although it's forbidden to sell animals without proper papers in Hamm...? How did you manage to bring the chameleons from Germany to UK without papers? Washington Convention must be followed in all states of the european union, which means you need origin papers for annex B animals (e.g. Furcifer pardalis or Chamaeleo calyptratus) even in UK.
