Chameleon eating its own skin

So Doc my baby veiled male has just shed for the first time since i got him around 3 weeks ago. it happened really quickly and he seems fine but i noticed him eating some of the skin he had shed. hes been eating regularly and his poo is fine so i guess im just wondering if any other members have seen this behavior or is he just a dirty boy?

It's fine and normal. Mine don't do it (that I've seen) but my geckos used to do this regularly when they shed. They do it 1. to recycle a bit and 2. to not leave behind a trace of where they've been, because it's pretty convenient for a predator to follow the bits of skin back to the animal.

interesting... my chameleon just shed for the first time today too.
good facts to know
