Can hornworms get TOO big to feed?

Hi,

I have some hornworms right now and of course they are growing into monsters as we speak....They just get so HUGE and I look at my chameleon and think 'no way'....Is there a point where they get too big and we shouldn't offer them any longer to our chams? He seems a bit intimidated by them at times, so I was just wondering...I know they are very soft and digestible and I would hate to waste the big guys...so, anybody have an opinion? Oh, and Wiley is still kinda hunger striking, just an occasional hornworm here and there...looks happy/healthy though!..

My adult panthers wolf down the giant hornworms with gusto, and the odd time that they decided they didn't want to deal with it they spit it out.

Good to know. Since they do not stay the width between the eyes very long maybe an hour or so :(. My beardies will not be happy with my new knowledge but Lily will be :)

That rule applies to width, not so much length. At least in my eyes. That's why I feed the large hornworms, silks, and supers. If I was going by length I'd have to feed tiny baby worms to everything.

Thank you olimpia. I did not realize that. Feeding roaches or beetles I prefer to think of them as such is more of an option.
