Cage Size

What is the ideal cage size for a Juvenile Jackson Chameleon? I'm gone for about 7 hours of the day from 8am till about 3pm, and for the past week my chameleon has been turning very dark by the time I come home. I have 16x16x30, but I feel like I'm cramming my chameleon and there isn't very many designated areas for him to cool down in. I want to upgrade to 18x18x36. Also, what kind of plant would you recommend as the "center piece" for the terrarium?

I woudl just upgrade to the 2x2x4 cage. he'll need it eventually anyway.

and a good full scheffelara is a great cage plant.

36"x18"x18" is the minimum cage I would use for a Jacksons, but 48"x24"x24" would be easier to create your different temperature zones. I use scheffleras as well. Pothos vines are also attractive.
