Hey I wanted to hear from some people who have bred Oustalet's chams before. I am wondering how I will know when the female is receptive to the male? My Veiled female definitely lets me know if she is ready or not by her actions and color. Are Oustalet's females the same? I recently got a female for my male and out of curiosity I put them near each other hoping for some kinda reaction but there really wasn't one. She did not change color and did not act aggressive or receptive but she did walk away from him. He of course was head bobbing and trying to get to her but I did not let him as I don't want to breed them till she gets a little bigger. She is 11 1/2 inches, 70 grams and 11 months old. The male is over 2 ft, weighs a pound and age is unknown. I've tried looking on the internet some and tried looking in books but I haven't found anything about female receptiveness and not much about breeding either(just the basics like how many eggs are laid, what temps to incubate, how long they incubate) I did come across something interesting though in one book. It said this species (the opposite sexes) are often found near each other in the wild and that they can be kept in pairs or trios in captivity if you have a big enough enclosure for them. I keep mine separate but has anyone kept them like that? Any info or tips on breeding would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance
