Ball python!

Just had a call from my vet, the one who nursed my beloved chameleon through her last couple of weeks, who felt sorry for me that I always lumber myself with rescues and end up being devastated...

He had a baby ball python brought in by someone who realised it's current keeper wasn't able to give it the care it needed.

So he nursed her back to health over the last month, managed to convince her to eat defrosted food instead of live, and called me to ask if I want her! He breeds snakes, but I think he's focussing on Kingsnakes at the moment. He's going to give me everything I need for her and I'm collecting her tomorrow!

I'm so excited! And my girls are thrilled, my youngest (6) adores pythons and nearly exploded when I told her we are collecting a baby one tomorrow... I say baby, but she's about 1 1/2 ft long.

And because I'm trying out this whole being responsible thing, I even told my husband about it (pretended I was discussing it with him, but you know how that goes) and he's just as excited as me!

Wonder how many more pets I can squeeze into the house before I can start just adding pets without him noticing...

Expect a million pictures tomorrow...

HAHA!
I do the same thing.

honey, the chameleon followed me home. Its a small hoehnelli. it doesnt take up room.

but honey, this one has a medical condition and im the ONLY one with a good reptile vet near by....

I want to breed, so i needed the female veiled.

well finding hoes is hard, i want to start a breeding project, its good money.

better to ask for forginess, then beg for permission.

I'm sure he thinks that! He is completely convinced he is enormous, so is very fearless! Probably thought he got lucky with the world's biggest mealworm!

haha sounds like my panther cham..

cept hes only 8-9 months old, and a bit small.

but fearless lizards!

Ordered some fuzzy rats from Big Cheese, hoping they arrive soon... the vet said to wait a week to offer her food, but she hasn't eaten since 7th June, so I think I'll offer the day they arrive! Little bit worried about vertebrates as feeders... My tiny blonde daughters are desperate for us to get live feeders, little ghouls really want to see her strangle a rat!

Handled her again today, she's doing well, showing early shedding signs too. And I think she's the only one not phased by the 100f temperatures at the moment!
