    New cage build

I haven't posted here in quite some time, but I want to share some pics of my new cage build. I did some research here on the forums to get some ideas. It's a regular 2'x2'x4' to replace an older larger cage that has seen better days. I like to place the cage on top of a planter so that it's an...

    Running chameleon

Look at him go! This is Taco sprinting from one tree to another. Anyone care to guess what his motivation was?

    In memoriam, Leo

Last night Leo passed away peacefully. Earlier in the day I had him outside on his tree and watered him, but I could tell he was getting weaker. Sometimes he's looked weak like this and then perks back up, but this time it was time for him to move on. I feel like he lived a long life, 6 1/2...

Ozzy a panther/oustalet hybrid- How big will he get?

This is Ozzy, he's a panther/oustalet hybrid and about 6 months old. I thought it might be fun to try to guess how big he'll get. Adult panthers are in the range of 150-250 grams and 16-20 inches or so and adult Oustalets in the range from 400-500 grams and 22-27 inches. Let's see who can...

    My new baby cham

Meet Ozzie, the latest addition to my cham family. Here's a video of him as he emerges from the container he was shipped in: And this is him eating a small dubia the next day: He's a voracious eater so far. I plan to weigh him on a weekly basis, as I usually do. It's going to be...

    Leo is 5 years old!

It's hard to believe it's been five years already! He's a sambava and I got him from Kammers on January 27, 2010 at about 8 weeks old. He's been a great chameleon and I'm happy to say that he's still alive and kicking! Here are a few pics with the most recent first...

    My 4.5 year old panther

I haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd share this video I took this morning of Leo eating a hornworm. I normally feed him by hand this way because he can't shoot his tongue very straight any more. I basically just place the food right on his tongue. I've also discovered a trick that I...

    Meet my new ambilobe!

I recently adopted this little fellow from a site sponsor. He's almost 8 months old and looks to be a blue bar ambilobe. We've named him Taco! Shedding already

    Drake In Memoriam

Drake was a very special Jackson's chameleon who has left us too soon. He recently had these bumps on his skin and swollen joints in his legs and when I took him to the vet a couple weeks ago he also had a respiratory infection. All of which has lead to his death yesterday. My vet says he...

    Swollen hind leg

Today I noticed that Drake's rear hind leg is swollen and he seems to be favoring the other one. I took some pics, see below. Also, since I do research in X-ray imaging at work, I took a couple of X-rays which I'll share here. I sent these to my vet, but I'd also like to hear any professional...

Feeding video and tongue shooting problem

I've noticed that Leo sometimes has a problem with his tongue shooting correctly. Here's a kinda funny video of him trying to get a dubia: http://youtu.be/m_m9biNsvzY As you can see, sometimes his tongue works fine, but certainly not all the time. Could this be related to something...

    Chams in MA!

I know I mentioned this in another thread, but I thought it was significant enough to warrant a new thread. It appears that chams are indeed now legal in MA, or at least they now have them in pet stores here which is totally new. Here's a pic I took at a local pet store:!!

Drake the Jacksons Chameleon looking handsome!

I haven't posted pics of Drake in a while. He's been looking nice, and very healthy. He's weighing in about 140 grams, and has been up to 150 recently. He eats about everything I attempt to feed him! I like how he seems to be a bit more yellow than other Jackson's I've seen pics of here.

    Reptiles May 2012 issue!

Have you guys seen this?: I just got this in the mail yesterday. It's nice to see an issue with chameleons prominently featured. Congrats to Chris Anderson! Also I should point out that another member is featured in the breeder's choice section with her Meller's chameleons! Nice job...

Jackson's with strange growth on lip

I noticed that my Jackson's has a strange growth or something of the sort on his lip. He is otherwise healthy and eating normally, but I was just wondering if anyone has seen anything like this before and if it's something I should have the vet look at? Here are some pics:

    My pissed off panther!

I came home from work the other day to find that my panther had escaped from his cage. After looking around for a while I did find him on the floor and he hissed really loudly at me, and showed me his REALLY fired up colors! I thought I'd share a few pics with you all. Back in his...

    Panther on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Did you guys see the panther chameleon on Jimmy Kimmel live? Neither did I but friend told me about it! It's at about minute 28 on the 6/29 episode... http://abc.go.com/watch/jimmy-kimmel-live/SH559060/VD55133258/jimmy-kimmel-live-629

Help! My chameleon is having trouble swallowing!

My Jackson's chameleon, Drake, has been struggling for over an hour to eat a dubia that seems to be stuck in his throat. Has anyone ever seen this happen before, and should I try to help him somehow? Obviously he can breath OK, but I'd really like him to get it down rather than me trying to...

Leo's spring time color progression! ***pic heavy***

Leo my sambava has changed so much in the last couple of months, I just wanted to show the changes here. He's 18 months old, so perhaps we are only starting to see his full adult colors now, I'm not really sure. I'm sure that finally getting some time outside has made a big difference too, and...
