    Are his colors normal?

It seems that Cosmo's stripes get really dark sometimes ( the bands separating the different greens). Like this morning the bands were almost black. He's about a year and a half old. We haven't changed anything care wise.

Cham seems to be shedding constantly

For the past month it seems that our Cosmo has been shedding continuously. Before he would shed about once a month. Now, he goes through a shed one week and the next week it starts again. It doesn't seen like it's different parts of his body, although it could be, I suppose. The shed looks...

    change in sleeping patterns

Lately, last few weeks, our Cosmo, 1 year old veiled, has changed his sleeping patterns. He used to still be awake when lights went out at 6 or 7pm. Lately I have found him already in his sleeping spot, eyes closed by 5, sometimes earlier, yesterday it was before 4pm. Lights go on daily...

    Chameleon sense of smell

I have a question about the chameleon's sense of smell. We have cats in our house, not a problem, he doesn't seem to be bothered by them and they pretty much ignore his enclosure. My question is would it be ok to set a cat litter pan next to the chameleon enclosure? He's up high, of course...

"no bigger than the space between his eyes"

the rule of thumb is feeders should be no bigger than the space between their eyes. So , I'm wondering does that mean the LENGTH of the feeder or the WIDTH of the feeder? I'm thinking of trying larger crickets with our veiled cham but don't want him to choke either. He takes down fairly large...

    summer humidity

Here in the midwest we are having a mini heatwave. Daytime temps in the 90's and high humidity. We have not put in our AC yet, so I'm wondering if there is such a thing as "too humid" for our veiled cham. This will be our first summer with him and I'm wondering if I need to change anything...

    Feeding question

Our Cosmo is around 5 months old ( i think). We were told he was 2 months old when we got him in October. What kind of feeding schedule should he be on at this age? He's currently getting at least 20 small crickets per day. When I have BSF larvae, he will get half larvae and half crickets...

    Poop? On his tail

My little Cosmo has had what looks like dried poop or urates on his tail for several days. Is this normal? Could it be start of a shed? I'm not sure. Most is white but there is a bit of orange. I have some pics, hopefully they are clear enough to see what I'm talking about.

    vitamin supplements

I bought Zoo Med's Reptivite with D3 for my 3 month old veiled cham. I have been using it twice per month. My concern is that the supplement seems really grainy, not dusty like calcium dust. I used a mortar and pestle and ground it up finer but my crickets still don't look very dusty when I...

    screen enclosure backdrop

I want to add a backdrop to my enclosure, to save the wall behind it from over misting. I'm thinking something like what is used on fish tanks, so it will go on the outside of my enclosure. Any ideas on where to look? The back panel of my enclosure is 30in x 30in. Thanks.

    T5 10.0 bulb

I'm getting a new uvb for my veiled chameleon and am wondering if the t5 10.0 is good? I was told a 5.o but couldn't find one. Thanks

    We had a misshap

So something startled our baby and he fell off his branch, landing at the bottom of the cage, about 26in. He got right up and cimbed back up, so I think he's fine. However he has this spot on his side now. It was a dark brown color but is now white, when his color is pale green and the spot...

    Calcium question

We are brand new chameleon owners. We have a 2 month old veiled. I know I'm suppose to dust his food with the calcium, I have Flukers calcium with d3. I feed my crickets a calcium fortified diet. So, I'm wondering if I still need to dust them every day or if it can be skipped. Cosmo the...
