how should you start getting your chameleon to eat things other than insects? i have placed it into her tank, and she just ignores it. i have also tried to hand it to her but she just gets all worked up. any other ideas? maybe she’s just not interested?

I got two plants for my Veiled Chameleon, and she keeps biting at, and sticking her tongue out and grabbing dirt. I have caught her a few times (the times that ive seen) and managed to get it out of her mouth. Is this okay? And what should/could I do to try and stop this from happening?
