Normally you can look up if bark is toxic because dogs eat it often. I know lilac is super nontoxic and I think pine is good too but it's sappy.
Oak might work or cedar
Hey I went outside and was nice enough to trim the lilac bush. And steal the branches.
I soaked non toxic branches in lightly soaped water and saved a ton of money.
Im not the, uh, richest in the world so I saved wherever I could while still making sure the cage was nice!
Go nuts! I made a list for a reason haha.
I have a couple more links too that I used a lot- can't take all the credit!

Yes! I've seen it used in other enclosures and boy does it add a pop to the cage. I've heard panthers sometimes (but rarely) munch on bark but it's not loose enough or close enough to the branches to make it easy for him.
You can cover up the three walls with no issues- I also added some holes in the foam for space for the temp gauge.
Technically you're not supposed to put them in an aquarium, but things like glass terrariums are *probably* okay so I don't see why the foam sides wouldn't.
I wish you the best of...
Let's play a game!
I need to document the growth of my plants to estimate how well they're growing in my habitat. Just added some earthworms and compost so they should start to grow more. Also just got spider mites (Amazing, right) so one of the plants will have to be temporarily removed tonight...
Story time!
I've wanted a chameleon ever since I knew you could own one as a pet honestly. When I was about 8 I saw one in person. Before I saw it I thought they were made up like unicorns. A couple years later I learned that they can be pets and I went nuts and started studying. Fast-forward to...
I'll most likely be getting screen just because glass is (SO) expensive. Once I have a little bit more expendable income I'll upgrade. I plan to have chameleons for a very long time! Silkworms will be used as feeders for sure . The more live things in a bioactive environment, the easier it'll...
Oh totally forgot to add! I am just curious about silkworms. I want to have some practice breeding them before I get chameleons and I have a spinning wheel. May try to spin silk lol.
Lolol yes I am a new cham owner and I have answers to all your questions! The pvc is to rig to hold up the basking lamp and possible piping for the drainage. The coconut fiber is for the sides as the background along with the spray foam. The potting soil is for the ground. Orchids just grow on...

I believe I calculated around $500 per habitat. I'm glad I rounded up in my calculations because if I'm going to be getting a chameleon I'll want those extra funds for whenever necessary.
