    Temperatures

I own a female veiled chameleon that is about 3 years old (don't know exact age). In the past winters I've had no problem keeping her basking spot at 80 degrees F, but this winter I noticed that it started to drop to even the lower 70s  So I put in another 75 watt incandescent light bulb...

    New Cage almost completed!!!

I am almost finished with the cage upgrade for my female veiled. I only have to set up the misting system and then I’m done! I would like input on the cage and whether or not anyone thinks that she could use more foliage?? All the plants are 100% live, and the heat lamp is 8 inches away, the UVB...

    Only laid 20 eggs...

I have an almost 3 year old female veiled chameleon. I noticed about a month ago that she was starting to develop eggs again, so I put in a laying bin. It was about 75% playsand and 25% organic soil just moist enough to hold a tunnel. She has laid eggs 3-4 times before. Each time I have been...

    New Cage

I finally finished building the new cage. It's a tall screen Dragon Strand enclosure. I am still waiting on a few things to arrive until I can put it all together, but today I went out and bought some plants:) I'm pretty sure that they're all chameleon safe, but I just wanted to double check. I...

    Shedding Cuff?

As I was putting my Chameleon back in her cage, I misted her from a distance to let her clean out her eyes and drink. I did this for about 2-3 minutes. The problem is she is also shedding. I always thought that you should raise the humidity while they’re shedding but I’m just now reading on here...

    New cage coming!

Since im still a teenager I haven't had enough money to buy my chameleon the bigger cage that she needs. My Mom thought that it was unnecessary to spend so much money on a reptile:( Recently I got a job to help pay for it and I was able to convince her to buy a bigger cage for my upcoming...

    Plants

Since I’m a teen I don’t have the money yet to get my chameleon a bigger cage, but I’m working and saving up money. So in the meantime I bought her more living plants. I have gotten rid of nearly all of the plastic plants in my chameleons cage. Sadly I wasn’t able to find a plant that could...

    Chameleon bit her tongue!

I was just trying to move my chameleon at around noon to clean out her cage. As I was lifting her out she shot her tongue out at my forehead, thinking it was food! Something odd happened... as she was retracting her tongue she seemed to have bitten it. I'm not sure how hard or how much damage it...

    Eggs!

My female veiled just laid her(unfertilized) eggs and there are 31 total! While this is still a large clutch it's very exciting because her clutches used to be around 40-60 eggs! Lowering her basking temp to 80F and feeding her less has really paid off! I do have one question though... I notice...

    Chameleon's overall health...

    · Your Chameleon - My chameleon is a female veiled who is almost 2 years old. I’ve had her in my care for a year and eight months or so. · Handling - I handle my chameleon twice every week, sometimes more… if it’s a sunny day I like to take her outside. · Feeding - I feed her 5-6 large feeders...

    Snails?

I wanted to get some new feeders for my chameleon. I heard that snails are a great choice. I was wondering what type of snail chameleons eat and how they eat them. Do they eat the shell and all? So do you just feed like other feeders such as crickets and roaches? And what do you gutload them...

    Plants

I am hoping to buy some live plants for my chameleons cage. The last time that I had a live plant in there I put rocks over the top so she wouldn’t eat the soil but she still found away around them! I caught her eating dirt on multiple occasions so I took the plant out. I really want live plants...

    Egg bound

Just wanted to let everyone know that my chameleon is egg bound. I am sad that this happened but just hoping that the vet visit tomorrow and the calcium shot will help her. She doesn't look too bad now but I figure it's better to take her in to the vet earlier rather than later.

    My chameleon vomited!!!!

I have a year old female veiled chameleon. Last night she threw up and i found undigested crickets in it and dirt. I don't know how she got to her dirt as I have flat rocks all over the top of my plant at the bottom of her cage. Just wondering what I should do to prevent her throwing up again. I...
