    New Beardie

Say hello to the newest edition to my reptile family. I unfortunately lost my special needs dragon Juno a few weeks back to an issue he's struggled with for a long time. Still very unexpected and jarring. While Juno will always have a place in my heart, I've let this little babe into my care...

    New leopard gecko baby!

Meet Nebula (Shortened to Nebbie) I have small hands... he is absolutely tiny! He's a Bold Bell W/Y baby that I got from BHB Reptiles. They have very high quality animals and service was great. Ive been keeping leopard geckos for over 6 years and they are honestly one of my favorite reptiles...

    Too hot!

The main AC is having some trouble. The ambient room temps are getting up to 85, no less than 81-82. I am trying to cool it down but I have to turn off my veiled's basking light as it was getting too hot. I have gotten the room they are in down to a reasonable temperature (75-77) , but to do...

Some pictures of Amaro, 8 1/2 - 9 months old.

Here he is yesterday.. FYI I had just gotten done chopping up some strawberries, so my fingers were quite red Lol. I am aware of the bend in his tail tip. I pinched it in the door when he was little. (still feel bad about that) And here he is today. I love his kung-fu basking pose.

    Weight gain.

Amaro is about 7 1/2 months old. He is 115 grams now! My only concern is he is gaining weight at a decently fast rate. Is this normal for a chameleon his age? He eats 12-15 medium sized crickets per day. I know around 8-9 months is when you start to slow down their food consumption. Pictures...

    Eating dirt.

I just caught Amaro shooting at some dirt. I covered it up with some rocks just now. Its got me curious as to why he is doing this. Ive read they do it because they feel they needs for nutrients, or because they are trying to clear their own parasites. I also looked through some fresh poop, and...

    "Baby Bananas"

You know when you go into the store.. and you see something super useless.. and you get it anyways? Yeah, these are the result of that. lol Are these any different than normal bananas, aside from size? On a side note, aren't they just so cute and tiny?

    Going out of state

Me and my family are going on a ski trip soon, and obviously I would've to take all of my animals with me, but you know.. I cant. Ive written out care sheets and printed them out. Sort of gotten myself into a pickle because I haven't been able to test my beardies for coccidia, so ive got to make...

How to avoid "1 step forward, 2 steps back"

Amaro is chillin on his free range. I normally get hissed and lunged at while taking him out of his cage, but he adores his free range and calms down quickly once on it. I offered some crickets by hand, didnt want it (to be expected).I accidentally dropped one on his leaves, and as I was picking...

Weird, fuzzy, larvae-like creatures in my cricket bin.

What in the heck are these? Found about 6 of them in my cricket bin. Are they some common thing everyone knows about except me? Why are they so fuzzy? I was scared to touch it, reminded me of fuzzy caterpillars (aka ultimate pain).

    A big drainage problem.

SO uh ive kinda dug myself a hole here. While I was treating for coccidia, I had to move and wiggle the cage around alot to clean and in the process of doing so, the side of the table has decided to snap/crack. Its been like this for a few weeks and I didnt have to time to fix it with everything...

    Problem, or no problem?

Amaro is eating good, and doing pretty good in general. But his favorite sleeping spot is high up on the lattice. He goes up there about 30 minutes before his basking and plant lights go out, and doesn't go to sleep until his uvb goes off. But my mistking is pointed more towards the middle of...

    Thoughts on new enclosure?

I just got a second clear fecal on Amaro, and hes officially coccidia free! I setup his new enclosure last night. Honestly I am no plant whiz I so I just grabbed some things I thought were safe. Still learning, lol. So in the enclosure I have some Purple Dracaena, philodendron...

    Slight wheezing?

When I first started hand misting (since my mistking timer broke, the new one comes in today) amaro kinda... flipped out. he hated it, since he had gotten used to the more gentle spray of his mistking. I try not to spray him directly. But about 2 days ago I was holding him because he had gotten...

    Good Nurseries

So I normally get my plants from Home Depot and lowes... does anyone know some good places to get wider ranges of healthy plants? My Lowes has a decent amount but they aren't always in the best condition, same for Home Depot.

Mist king timer wont turn on!

So last night my mistking nozzle clogged up. I took it off the cage and ran water through it, and put it back. Tested it and it worked just fine. Now today the timer wont turn on. I tried pressing the buttons and normally it'll flash on but its completely black. Yes I did make sure its plugged in.
