My otherwise healthy 2 yr male Panther has had his right eye closed shut for about two weeks now. He has been to the exotic vet just once, last year and that was because there were buldges in the forward areas of his eye turrets. Not sure what they did beyond eye flush and drops while he was...
I've been using this as my plant light for a couple of years now with marginal success. Does anyone kow if they're good up until they burn out or should they be replaced before that like UVB bulbs?
I'm also wondering if this would be a little more effective on the plants but without harming...
I've had Larry in my care now for a year and half, got him as a 3 month old. I've always kept his feeder active with Dubias (his staple) and rarely ever saw him help himself. Until now. Does he look too robust? Time to restrict the buffet?
I noticed this over aged Dubia emerge (must've escaped feeder) and noticed the odd appendage. As it moved, it was clearly attached. I swiped it with a paper towel and flushed immediately! Looks like what a baby hornworm molt but not sure why it was at the roach's opposite end?
I know Vields have an appetite for greens but this morning I found my 5 month Panther boy grazing on a ficus leaf! He has plenty of dubias but I haven't gotten him any crickets in a week so maybe he's choosing greens over roaches? I've had him since last June and never witnessed this until now...
I have a 2x4x4 enclosure that I utilize a root pouch to be bioactive and its been as trouble free as possible (no smell and no cleaning, draining or replacing drain pans!) But every once in a while I'll take a looking glass at the top soil and have noticed a much more dense population of...
It baffles me that so many vendors with SILKWORM in the company name are so consistently out of live silkworms. The few I did find are capitalizing on the situation. I will give Serenity credit for having Silkworm in their name and can still fill an order... but that shipping is killa.
He arrived yesterday safe, fiesty and fast! This little guy traveled coast to coast so thanks to Jonathan at iPardalis for packing him with a cold pack and having him held at the air conditioned FedEx station so I could pick him up. I just clicked a few bad shots as I put him in his enclosure...
Yes, this happened with my 2 yr old Jacksons. I've noticed he takes him time getting a Dubia all the way in his mouth after chewing. First time I've seen him eat late in the afternoon and it was good sized Dubia stuck half way in his mouth. Guess he got bored and tired and went to sleep, lol...
Jack is my 2 yr old Jacksons that I've had in my care since he was 4 months and my first cham. Recently I've noticed his butt looks like he's been tragging it in the soil of his 2x2x4 bioactive enclosure. But I never see him walking or even near the bottom. Could it be something he's eating? His...
This is the graphic included in the latest, average HR-time-waster-email from the company I work at but this time, for some reason, has a chameleon pictured! Looks like it could be a Parsons gone through the photoshop cycle?
This is something I was not aware of until Petr brought it to my attention. And that is, my cham's urates have always look white to me but that's a sign of consuming too much water. I took some shots of his urates after they've long dried. Looks white to me:
And here's my Jack. I can't see...
I've seen here where they are safe to feed but curious about their nutritional value. I haven't ever included pollen in my cham's diet so I can see some valure there. We have a flowering bush my wife calls "hot lips" that all the little pollenators love including humming birds. It's just too...
About two months ago I added a money tree and not long after noticed some of the small, green balls. I pinched one between my index and thumb and it broke like a chicken egg, dispensing a clear liquid.
And my "little tank" who inabits the bioactive enclosure
Had this little dude since March of this year and although he doesn't really care for me much, he's a real sweetheart! Never even opens his mouth when I handle him. Anyway, here are some photos of my little "tank", feel free to let me know if you see something amiss with him, he's my first...
