    An Affordable Deep Heat??

There is the slate rock directly beneath the heater to "soak" up heat that is roughly 6"x8". They don't hide in caves or under rocks in their natural habita either. They're either hiding in water or under leaves in "swampy forests" waiting for their prey. Temps are typically maintained between...

    An Affordable Deep Heat??

Sorry, I was working on a rat rack yesterday and forgot to reply to that. Here's some pics I found of the one I had and the cage it was on. I had it sitting on the screen top on the left side when it was up there. As noted, this was setup for a young blood python, so there was no way he was...

    An Affordable Deep Heat??

Right, so your Arcadia is heating down to at least 24 inches? The 75w I recieved was hotter then heck in that 5" zone, 6" could hardly feel a thing, at 18" I could feel nothing and temp controller showed 3° rise max. I suspect these have a thinner "reflector" then the Arcadia ones do because the...

    An Affordable Deep Heat??

I used my laser temp as well as my temp controller. The animal, a blood python which doesn't have "high heat" needs to begin with didn't make it in with that one there. It would only raised my temps both plant surface and temps and air by 3 degrees at most running 24/7 for 4 days straight. Not...

    An Affordable Deep Heat??

They are garbage, I got one of the 75w ones and sent it back. It did ok for the first few inches on the side of the glass cage I had it on (note I was not trying it for chams but I do you glass for chams as well.) It was on a 36x18x24 and below 5 or so inches it was usless in my situation...

Sansi 70W grow light - STACKING coupons!

Well, the code would be modified for specified times for clouds/ lightning releaving that problem lol. For some reason I feel like the bantem earth build did this with a scratch built controller.

Sansi 70W grow light - STACKING coupons!

If it's open then I'd think one could modify the code to trigger a second channel for the pump during the cloud/ lightning cycle. I'm beyond rusty with ifft but pretty sure I've seen similar code posted somewhere.

Sansi 70W grow light - STACKING coupons!

Gotcha now, no not to time it with a mister. Would it not be open source code though being arduino based?

Sansi 70W grow light - STACKING coupons!

Sorry, 48w was for 12v systems :( . Directly from the storm x manual.

Sansi 70W grow light - STACKING coupons!

Downside to the tc420 if I've understood what I've read in the past is it's max is 240w @48w max per channel. That wont run the qb120 at max let alone the qb132. The storm x "cloud/ lightning" settings aren't location based either lol. You set the frequency of clouds from 0-10 and it randomly...

Dripper drip rate and other questions

It's actually a high pressure high flow pump that is running both mister nozzles and the 3 row rain system. The rain side is controlled via ball valve (turn off or on that side of things for servicing) and the swagelok metering valve for flow control.

    Fertilizing plants

Very well said. Only thing I can think of to add, that is why aragonite usage is advised for alkaline needing species in aquariums. Never had any fluctuations on this tank at all but definitely had more then my fair share of labs and acei born in here when it was up and running.

    Fertilizing plants

Iron, both powder and liquid on top of the little bit they get from the safe t sorb. Plant tone, osmocote indoor/ outdoor, csm+b/ powder npk (left over planted tank fertilizer) are also in my mixes. Easy way to do it is either in ice cubes or put into a clay ball (there is a specific clay to use...

    Uva

To elaborate a little more now that I'm over what ever was going on, you really have to look at the spectral distrobution of each lamp (flourescent) or led to know what it is producing. Most artificial lighting spd charts are going to show maxing out at "1" for the top of the chart for said...

    Uva

I'll read through the rest of the comments later but, easiest answer on can we see uv-a. Our eyes can not see uva and below without "assistance".

    No basking bulb

Though not a direct answer, the sun puts out approximately 11,793 lumens per square foot (900-1500 micromoles par) on a perpendicular surface. Sorry for the delay, I've been under the weather the last few days.

The New Arcadia Jungle Dawn LED bars whose got'em?

So, I still don't see how the switch has calibrated anything with the bulbs. There is still a slight flicker (one of the bulbs is more noticeable then the other) and the dimming range is pretty low for what I'm using them on atm. 0% is a perfect low light sunrise and 50% is a perfect noon time...

Sansi 70W grow light - STACKING coupons!

Well, basically after looking at the storm/x, the regular storm is what would be needed for the hlg dimming. It does have clouds, storms, ramp up ramp down (aka sunrise/ sunset). To save going through the trouble of coralux direct... https://www.rapidled.com/storm-w-10v-converter/ Edit 2...

Should add, the storm x actually has clouds and storms programming already. Forgot about that sorry.
