My last post here - a SERIOUS concern about roaches

I'm not sure what you want me to say, James has a man crush on Brody and it borders on obsession how much he inserts himself into any conversation even when Brody is even tangentially involved- PMing me about how great Brody is when I was trying to find a new home for my cham and such. OCD...

My last post here - a SERIOUS concern about roaches

Wow. After all these years that's the last thing you want to say to me Brody? "Real" men take care of their family's and community's needs first and foremost, and letting your personal hobby - in this case in the form of insects which to the uninitiated are large and unknown- take precedence...

My last post here - a SERIOUS concern about roaches

Thanks for understanding, and why I feel others should go into this knowing what to expect. The general consensus around here was "don't worry, they can't live more thank a couple weeks at most in 50% humidity and low 60's with no water" Totally false. 4 months easy, no heat, low humidity...

My last post here - a SERIOUS concern about roaches

I was fed misinformation. I know they can't harm me and we live with lots of NATIVE wildlife. This is different for a variety of reasons. Anyone renting for example would have to be pretty selfish to impose their hobby on future tenants. Just 1 example.

I'm pretty sure at least one has Mandolorian armor on... I seriously can't believe this...

My last post here - a SERIOUS concern about roaches

Just found 5 more on the bottom and sprayed the %$^# out of the enclosure. Took a full blast of roach specific spray and still alive 10 minutes later.... fffggg

My last post here - a SERIOUS concern about roaches

WHO CARES if they cause full on infestation, isn't the thought of dozens if not hundreds of roaches able to live in your home for months a problem for some people?! I went into this as the lone hobbyist in my family and with the info that an escapee would die in a week or two... just want...

My last post here - a SERIOUS concern about roaches

I re-homed my panther to a wonderful family, and the enclosure has been empty for about 4 months. Nighttime temps dip into the low 60's, and mist has been turned off. Only water is at the base of my single plant in there. Switched out some electronics around the enclosure today, and this evening...

    Raising snails - learning experience

Do you have springtails with them? Eating that much is going to make a lot of poop. For whatever reason I couldn't get them to really do well without the cleanup crew.

    Raising snails - learning experience

100%, so will a carrot if you leave 2 inches and the leaves (,(mine actually had no leaves and grew lraves!(. But the snails don't really eat it, they need like chunks of stuff. Also I think found it impossible to culture snails without a healthy spring tail population going. Order them adao ...

Interesting idea for an incredible enclosure

Yes, I thought of posting here precisely because of that- you have to be local to make this work. ALSO- these labs in my experience will go much MUCH lower than the stated price, once they want a piece of equipment out, are moving, lose a govt. contract, or are closing they practically pay you...

Interesting idea for an incredible enclosure

Yeah bro! Exactly right. I have not had an escapee in like 6 months (knock on wood- preferably grapevine lol). These things are tanks, there is no way our little hobby stuff would challenge it. Plus the PRICE is better than most pet industry enclosures! It has endless possibilties for all...

Advice needed ASAP! I MITE have a problem

Actually, some are symbiotic and act as cleanup crews. I wash my bugs every time I feed and even in the initial water bath for the roaches before feeding, no mites floated to the to the top, but my question is whether they usually end up being a hassle to reptiles too or if that's a totally...

Interesting idea for an incredible enclosure

Even if it didn't come standard with dial controlled airflow, the motor is set up to do variable speeds so it would be a %5 pary

Interesting idea for an incredible enclosure

Yes I know my way around a lab, all those parameters can be adjusted. It does have a fume hood, but it comes off and it would be great for airfloe- filtered to the micron level i might add

Advice needed ASAP! I MITE have a problem

I didn't get any messages or alerts on the thread! What's the easiest and fastest way to get rid of them, or should I not even care because they won't bother the chameleon?

Interesting idea for an incredible enclosure

There are a ton of labs liquidating equipment this time of year. Has anyone considered modding one of these sterilization animal enclosures for a reptile? They are not all on the thousands, many are under $500 and have all sorts of crazy features like integrated outlets, sterilizing bulbs...
