I recently discovered this wonderful non-profit organization in my hometown who takes in reptiles and amphibians who can no longer be taken care of for whatever reason. I plan to donate to this Sanctuary owned by a very nice woman in my area. Sadly, I wish I had known about her a few months ago...
I recently ordered a Bearded Dragon and tried to join a few forums but they won't let me post. Does anyone know how these forums work and does it take 24 hrs to be approved? Of course I'm going to be paranoid and think that they hate me or something
... for LLL Reptile they sent me an adorable little male Jackson's not long ago and he has stolen my heart. I plan to free-range him but right now he is between the cage and outdoor/free living ;)
I have been pouring a small amount of Repti calcium into my superworm plastic container 70ct bought at Petco. Does anyone else do this? Do you find that it works better than just dusting?
I took my cham outside on the porch today for some real sunshine and he seemed to like it. I assume since he came from PetSmart that it was the first time he has EVER been out. I let him roam on the Hibiscus plant and he ate a old brown dried up blossom!
Gonna try to do this as much as I can...
Luckily there is an exotic vet at the animal hospital in the next town over. My cham has an appointment on Monday AM. I need to know if he is healthy so just a routine check-up-- my mother laughed at me. I really wish people would take my chameleon seriously but whatever. I am worried about...
I know it sounds bratty but after discovering this forum, I have fallen in love with this species-- I am a novice however. Are they really difficult to keep? I have a male veiled at the moment he is very healthy but what an attitude! Ugh
Funny I have had him for almost a month and he (male Veiled 5 months) has been displaying some great colors lately and has decided to take advantage of roaming my room. I only leave the door open when I am home but I want to tame him on HIS terms ad he has been venturing out the last few days...
My male Veiled chameleon started shedding yesterday and he is still in the process. I noticed he is not very active or hungry. I'm guessing this is normal? He is around 4 months and I have had him for 3 weeks! I was reading that frequent misting helps too. Anything else I need to know?

I have read extensively on the Veiled chameleon care and just a few questions. I brought home a juvenile male 4 days ago and so far he seems okay. I feed him about 4-6 calcium dusted crickets a day and mist his cage at least 3x per day, even misting his face until he opens his mouth. Any times...
