    Correct supplements

Hello! I recently went to my exotic vet and got a workup on my chameleon- labs, blood cultures, etc. because his casque started to swell. There appears to be no visible signs of any bacterial or respiratory infections present, per the vet. However, the labs resulted in high calcium levels to be...

    Please help!!!

Hello everyone, My chameleon has been on and off closing his eyes- I took him to an emergency exotic vet and they gave him a bundle care kit about a week and a half ago (shot of antibiotics, critical care carnivore formula, calcium gluconate, and fluids). The next day he was able to keep his...

    Possible respiratory infection?

Hello all, I just noticed tonight that my chameleon has been taking deep exhales through his nose at night, while sleeping. However, he does not have any bubbling from his nose or mouth or mucous/saliva buildup. He breathes normally throughout the day, no signs of "rattling" or "wheezing" when...

    Is this a casque burn?

Hello! Recently my little guy has had these strange bubble-like scales on his casque. However, they are firm and there is no evident burning anywhere. I recently switched from the daylight blue Zoomed bulb to a Halogen daylight bulb. Could it possibly be too hot for him? I have it set up...

    MBD? Please help

Hi, my chameleon has been having nerve spasms in her legs but she is able to walk, climb, and move without any problems at all. I was informed that it can be MBD by a friend but she has been consuming calcium without D3 everyday and then Calcium with D3 and multivitamins a few times a month. I...

    Help pleaseeee

Hello, everyone. My chameleon just layed her first ever clutch of eggs a little while ago! She seems very exhausted and is protecting where she buried them. I was going to let her relax for tonight and was wondering if in the morning I should give her more crickets and food than I normally do...

    Worried

My little cham is carrying eggs, I can see it in her shape. I'm worried that she won't lay them, I have a bin set up inside her cage. It is 12 and a half inches deep, with topsoil and a bit of wet playsand mixer in. She's gone into it before, but just seems to make her way back to the top of her...

    Eggbound???

I was wondering if my chameleon looked like she was carrying eggs. She doesn't show gravid colors, but sometimes she seems to go towards the bottom of the cage and make her way back up. She has been eating, drinking, and I dust her food with calcium w/o D3 everyday. Sorry if the pictures aren't...

    Difficult cham

My chameleon doesn't seem to use her laying bin in her cage, so I'm going to pick up a large bin to stick her in today. I'm going to mix the playsand with the topsoil. Should I put the lights on her and feed her as well? I know some people don't bother, because they're getting ready to lay eggs.

    Help

Just a few questions to make sure everything is on track, if you guys don't mind me asking. 1) I was told to give my cham calcium with D3 every 2 weeks and multivitamins every 2 weeks. Is it okay if I give her with D3 on the 1st of every month and the multivitamins on the 15th of every month, or...

    Bin layout

Today I purchased organic topsoil and play sand. I have my chameleon's laying bin full of substrate so I'm going to switch it out. I was wondering what the best way to set up the soil and sand would be? Should I put the play sand 3/4 of the bin and then the topsoil 1/4? Any suggestions would be...

    Laying eggs

My chameleon is starting to go the bottom of her cage and will go back up to the top of her cage. I have a pot in there for her, with plantation soil (substrate) for reptiles because that's what I was recommended to use. Is this an okay soil for her? How big does the pot/bucket have to be?

    Lights

I have a 100w heat bulb and a 10.0 UVB ReptiSun mini compact flouorescent bulb. I heard that these are safe, and this is what most Chameleon owners use. Would both of the bulbs be too hot for my chameleon? Or do you think she'd be okay? She seems to get these dark outlining circle around her eyes.

    Bulbs

Hi, I was wondering if I should switch out one of my bulbs. The guy at the exotic pet store told me to use Repti Sun 10.0 but after reading about it, is it too hot? My cham is only 5, almost 6 months old. I have a Repti Sun 5.0 bulb coming in tomorrow, would that be safer?!

    Humidity and crickets

I was wondering if I could get an accurate level of humidity and temperature for a 5-6 month old veiled chameleon, also I feed her 10-12 medium crickets daily, because she's a big eater. Is that too much? If so, how many should I reduce her to?

    Feeders

How often should I give my female veiled cham a superworm? I'm also going to purchase silkworms and repitworms tomorrow, how often with those?

    Sleep schedule

I currently own a veiled chameleon and I have her lamp running for 12 hours during the day, the only problem is I get up at 5 am would it be okay for her to only get 10 hours of sleep? I know she sleeps when I turn off her lamp even if I have my TV on at night.
