Did anyone attend the San Diego reptile show?

Was down in SD this last week and saw a billboard for the show. I missed it by a day. Did anyone attend? Pics?

The roach delema; Sell off or keep?

Just when I thought Lucky wouldn't eat roaches anymore...he did. As of yesterday, he hadn't eaten a roach in a year. So... I put an add up to sell my "prize reserve" colony (smallish dubia colony kept inside on seed warming mat and fed fresh fruits and veggies as a gut load). I have not fed any...

Are blackberry leaves o.k. for hornworm gut load?

Searching through the site and didn't see anything. I just wanted to be 100% certain that they would be a safe gutload. I've still got a few to feed off and didn't want them to cannibalize each other.

    A good experience today

I'm so excited! I actually sold a few dubia to a local veiled cham couple today. When my dubia and super colonies are busting at the seams, (very small scale) I often sell to local fishermen (delta/ sloughs and lakes near by) . Today, I actually sold to a cham. keeper! Very nice couple that have...

    Cleaninig/sorting the dubia bin

Looking for a faster/ easier way to clean out the frass from the dubia bin. Just took me about 40 min to clean out one of my small bins without the bucket method. Anyone have a better/different way to clean out the bin other than the bucket method?

    Calibrating hygrometers

As winter is upon us and I have seen multiple posts concerning humidity levels, I found a members blog (closed?) that explains the process in pretty great detail. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/entry/calibrating-hygrometers.669/ The previous post from 2012...

I've got worms! Supers that is.

I've been trying my hand at pupating and breeding superworms without much success recently until last night. When changing the beetles over to their new/fresh bin, I finally got my magnifying glass out and took a look. I saw a little wiggling and upon further inspection, I noticed a super ensey...

    Lucky in the ficus

Had a great basking session with Lucky this afternoon. He's quite a docile 9 mo. old veiled, but the angle of the camera seems to have caught his grumpy side. I think the shot should be entitled: Get out of my ficus!!! :D I'll see what I can do to attach a few more tonight. This evenings sun...

    Kudos to Rainbow Meal Worms

Ordered a cup o' horn worms on Friday last week and finally got them last night. Well, as you can guess, I received extra-large horns at my door. It's been warm and they had eaten most of the food. Really beautiful worms, but the size of my finger and as fat as my thumb! I sent an e-mail to...

Any budding entomologists willing to ID larve?

All, Opened my compost bin this am to find these little guys wiggling about. At fist glance, I though I had BSF larva, but I don't think so. I believe it is some type of moth larva. The BIG question is..........can I feed them to Lucky once I gut load them, or not? They very in size from...

6 mo. old Veiled's ambivalent behavior

All, I've been searching to no avail on my Veiled's particular behavioral issue. Think I may need a Veiled behaviorist for this one. Often times, when I attempt to offer Lucky a snack, he'll by pass the treat and climb directly on to my hand. This is great, but as soon as he climbs up my...
