Thought I'd share a horrifying cricket crisis I had today. I was cleaning out one of my crickets tubs, and wanting to thoroughly scrub and sanitize it, I moved all of the crickets into a smaller container while I washed the large one. Needless to say, clumsy me knocked the container over...
So our little reptile family has grown! Today we brought home a tiny gargoyle gecko from the White Plains expo. This has been very long awaited for me... ;) The pictures don't do the baby justice, as it is much redder, but the transport caused it to change color.
Emoji is now one whole year old! Today, we celebrated his hatchday with some Superworms (his favorite) and a hibiscus cupcake! Happy Hatchday, my little man! :D

As the title says, I'm trying to figure out the exact pronunciation of Chamaeleo Calyptratus (Latin name of Veiled chameleon). I can't seem to find much on the internet, so I figured I'd consult the experts. ;) I need to know and be able to say it for a 4-H project. Thanks in advance! :D
I was just thinking about how unique each chameleon's personality is and how they are each amazing individuals. I though it would be fun to hear about everyone's cham quirks. What makes your cham unique? For example, a few of my chameleon, Emoji's, personality quirks are:
He LOVES getting...
I don't know if anyone else's cats are mischievous geniuses, but mine is and it's really getting annoying. This isn't really a question... I just wanted to shared my bizarre situation. My cat has discovered how to open the little bottom door by batting at the latches. I've...
Today we had an awful experience with silk moths. A while ago, I had gotten some silkworms to feed Emoji. It was experimental, but it turned out that he loved them! There were four silkworms that were really too big to feed him, so I kept them around awhile. Since he loved the silks so much...
I just wanted to share my cricket breeding success. Before I tried, I was really concerned that it would be super difficult, after reading stuff on the internet. Turns out it wasn't as hard as I thought. All it took was some heat, dirt, and oh, about 500+ crickets...
I came home...
Hello everyone! Sooo..... I've meant to post update pictures of Emoji sooner, but he absolutely despises the camera. *Sigh* Fortunately, not even the camera can wake him up when he's sleeping. ;) Emoji is growing fast (not quite so runty anymore! :p) and developing getting...
So, like the title says, I want to...let me rephrase that ... I really should start breeding my own crickets. I was hoping that Emoji would be into roaches, as I have heard that they are very easy to breed, but cricket still remain his favorite... sigh...:( I've been doing quite a...
Hello, everyone. I know practically nothing about Bearded Dragons. I know plenty about chams, but not much about other lizards. So, any knowledge about Beardies would be helpful!
Anyways... I was in my local Petco :( (the one which i always leave in tears after seeing the poor sick...
An introduction is WAAAY overdue. I've been meaning to, but I was waiting until I had acquired more pictures. I've had my little guy for exactly a month today and he's settled in nicely. The pictures are not great quality, as he hates the camera and I try to snap photos as quick as I can...
Hi, everyone! I know that the general rule of thumb is not to feed anything bigger that the width between he eyes, but what about worms (superworms for example)? Would you use he same rule? If so, would you measure the width of the worm (seems like that would be a pretty big worm!) or...
Hi, everyone! So I've been feeding my chameleon some phoenix worms lately which he really likes. On the Phoenix Worms website it says that if the cup smells like ammonia, there is a dead worm in it. Well... my cup now smells like ammonia.:( It also says to remove the "obviously" dead worms...
Hi, everyone. It's pretty cold right now where I am and I'm having trouble maintaining a warm enough basking spot and consequently the rest of the cage. My chameleon is a male veiled chameleon between 5 and 6 months. He is in the basking area almost all the time and seems like he needs more...
Hi, everyone! I thought I'd share a pic of my soon to come baby (5 months old) veiled chameleon. I don't actually have him yet, as we are waiting for better and warmer weather for shipping, so I didn't take the picture. :D Here he is:
I'm also trying to think up some names. If anyone has...
Hi. I live in New Jersey and I am trying to find a place that sells Dubias. I thought maybe other members that live in New Jersey might know. If I can't find any locally I will probably just order them. Thanks!
Hello! Recently I've been doing some research on the differences between Panther chameleons and veiled chameleons. I was sure before now that I was going to get a male veiled chameleon because from what I've read, they are the best beginner chameleon and I bought all of the supplies for one...
