    Jacksons Chameleon Still Not Eating...

Have you taken him to see a vet? I brought mine in for a physical and found out he had giardia AGAIN which we had successfully treated but it has returned. Whenever he has this it's like he hates food, and I'm amazed at how he has survived while eating so little. They are stubborn, hardy...

    New Chameleon Owner...need some insight!

Wow, she is gorgeous! She looks pretty healthy to me, but a few things do look a bit off to me. maybe someone else can comment here, but it looks like the end of her tail might have a retained shed (possibly a vet visit in order) and her bones are a bit on the prominent side imo. I have a male...

    Chameleon with no eyes...

You might be better off thinking about it in terms of pros and cons for both you and the cham; this is what I think but since it's yours I really can't tell you what to do... Pros of keeping it- YOU: now own a pet with a unique physical anomaly CHAM: survives (maybe) Cons of keeping it- YOU...

    Top of crest came off....

It looks like he could have scraped it off? Similar thing happened to my guy a while back; he chipped the front of his casque from trying to wedge himself between vines. Vet prescribed chlorhexidine and silvadene cream but definitely bring him in to get a professional opinion. I just realized...

    CJ's culture results

I opted to use a clothing steamer instead of chemicals, that way I could disinfect branches/fake plants and avoid fumes & cleanup. Can get one for around $30. Live plants will need to be swapped and then quarantined to prevent re-infection. Alcohol actually does very little to kill these...

    Jackson Chameleon Red Eye Lids

He looks good from what I can tell. Maybe a senior member can chime in. Sounds to me like he is just growing up. A close-up picture would be helpful to see what you mean though.

    A Shedding Baby Panther :D

Yep mine eats his shed also. It's equal parts gross and hilarious :ROFLMAO: Now that you mention it, watching him grab onto his eye-flake with his arm and rip it off/throw it to the ground was possibly one of the most rewarding moments of chameleon ownership.

    Spider in my cricket box

It looks like a brown recluse (smooth rather than fuzzy, and similar body shape) I vote SMOOSH IT VERY CAREFULLY or catch and release somewhere far... far away... brown recluse spiders are MOST poisonous! Please be careful!

    Lighting and heat

Actually - just saw that last picture. Those look like broken ribs to me. I say a vet visit is in order. ASAP!

    Lighting and heat

A big part of cham keeping involves bug-keeping and plant-keeping. Sounds like you have a lot of research to do! I promise it gets easier as you go :)

    King might be sick.....

Just recovering from something similar here! Definitely find a reliable vet for long term if you are able. I have a 2yo male veiled and he suddenly started acting... depressed :( wouldn't eat crickets but he would still occasionally eat superworms (his favorite thing ever). Initial poop test...

    kind of weird feeding situation.......

Same thing happened to me, sort of... My veiled ate an adult male dubia once (gradually brought him up to eating that size without issues) and I saw him chomp the dubia around the midsection, then swallow it. Apparently it didn't die, because a minute later he puked it back up and it was STILL...

HELP ! LOST MY VEILED :(

my cham escaped once and proceeded to fall down the (hardwood spiral) stairs and dislocate his ankle and elbow. we found him climbing on the downstairs stair rail, about to fall down yet another flight of (bare hardwood) stairs. just hanging out. turned out ok, all things considered, so maybe...

    glass terrarium vs. screen??? help

Screen + more lights My setup has 1 UVB bulb with 3 basking lights to help control the temperature. If it's summer, we only need 1 75watt basking light to maintain his temps but when it's winter here we amp up the lighting. If it ever starts to get too hot you can always switch off a light ( or...

What is this growth thing on female Dubia?

Congrats! In about a month she will have her babies - this is a totally normal part of how they reproduce. She will take the egg sack back into her body after a day or so (gross haha but w/e) and give live birth later on. Expect to see about 30-50 tiny babies very soon! Sarah

    Chameleon is losing color!

He looks great! Maybe someone with more experience could chime in, but I think he looks wonderful. He doesn't seem to have any signs of dehydration or vitamin deficiencies, he looks well fed and happy. So what if he isn't neon colored, he seems to be in great health and he is lucky to have such...

    White tail n feet

Seems fine The older a cham gets, the slower they tend to shed each time. Looks like he is just taking his sweet time to shed this time around :) I wouldn't be worried at all, just mist him more and keep his humidity up. Hope this helps! Sarah
