    Hornworms aren't too friendly towards each other and bite, so that will leave black mark. It depends how big is discoloration. If you can post a picture that will help.

    Try to give your chameleon some food first and then slowly put your hand next to him. Chameleons don't like any sudden movements it may scare them. See if it changes anything.
