Fruit Fly Medium you can count on
I have been using this for years. It doesn't get soupy and works better then the medium you buy. I put this in a zip lock bag and add the liquid when I need some. Works great and stays forever. I got this this from someone on the forums; wish I could give them credit but I don't have the name... -

I have found that without the hydroballs you can have water in the bottom of your terrarium and you can get a smell in your tank. Not good. Do what you want. Females can be smaller than the males. How old is she? My 3 females are about that size and they are 9 - 10 months old. One had MBD when I bought her and I brought her back to health. She isn't any smaller then the other two that have been healthy since I got them.- BocaJan
