    Bringing chams outside

Due to the shy nature of 3 of my 4 chams, Zuri is the only one who ever gets to enjoy going outside. I'd really like to bring everyone else out, but I'm really nervous of them freaking out once they get out there. Anyone have any tips on bringing a shy cham outside/ getting them out of their...

    RIP little ones

I've been boycotting my local store for a few weeks after finding out that one of my babies that I sold to them drowned due to a co-op student not paying attention and overmisting. I was advised this morning that this girl has since been fired after the store owner found out that I wasn't...

    So frustrating!

I REALLY want to brag about how gorgeous Teller, my male Meru Jax is, but he absolutely despises my camera!! Anyone else have this problem?? I've tried to get shots of him on multiple occasions and every time I pull my camera out he runs away as fast as his little legs will let him! GRRR I...

helping a sick cham gain weight

Zuri has lost a lot of weight in the past month or two, and is now on Fortaz injections every 3 days for the next 4-6 weeks. She seems to be doing better (more or less) and has had 3 injections so far. She hasn't had the appetite she used to (even before the meds), and is sort of off eating...

    Finally ate something besides crix!!

So know this is a small feat but I thought I'd try some butterworms and a hornworm today to see if I could get my guys to eat anything other than crickets. Zuri ate a butterworm!! FINALLY!! Also, Teller ate a butterworm and a hornworm and Pearl ate 2 butterworms! Asha is still afraid of them...

    Please meet Teller and Pearl!

Hey everyone! The long wait is now over and I finally brought home my two Mt. Meru Jacksons yesterday afternoon. I am absolutely IN LOVE!! The photos aren't great, as they're still stressed from the long car ride, but hopefully I'll get some more once they settle in. Here is Teller. If...

    Cage temps for meru's

I have my female meru's enclosure set up and got a temp gun today. It's reading 83F basking, 74F in the middle and 72.5F at the bottom. This is okay right? I'm also concerned about her risk of burning if she decides to crawl on the top of the enclosure. Any thoughts on this??

    New enclosure setups and revamp

In preparation for my two new chams that I should be ready to pick up by the end of the week, I'm starting to set up their enclosures. I've turned our spare room into a makeshift "Cham room" and I'm moving Zuri and Asha in there as well. These photos are at the beginning stage, with just the...

    Mercury vapor bulbs

I read somewhere on here that mercury vapor bulbs produce UVA, UVB and heat. I was wondering if these would be okay for 2 Mt. Meru Jacksons chams? The wattage seems high on these bulbs, but maybe someone with experience with them could chime in on whether or not this is a good buy? I like the...

No UVB for a few days?

One of my babies definitely has an RI and is not doing too great right now. I moved her into a small tank with some sticks and an artificial plant and i put a 60w incandescent bulb in one of my ballasts to try and dry out his lungs. The problem is, I don't have enough ballasts right now to...

How to treat a baby cham for RI?

My husband and I went away for a few days and we had our neighbors son take care of all my chameleons. I in no way blame him for this (he didn't know better), but I think he may have misted too heavy and one of my 7 week old babies now has an RI. Because they're montane, I don't have a heat...

    sexing 5 week sternfeldi babies

Here are some photos of my 5 week sternfeldi babies, birthed by my favorite girl, Zuri! All babies are doing really well and growing like weeds! Anyone care to take a stab at sexing them? I have my assumptions, but since I'm fairly new to sexing these guys, I'd like some input from some...

Can someone PLEASE tell me what this is?! URGENT!!

Zuri has dropped a few stillborns in the past week or so (her actual birth was a month ago today). It's been pretty rough on her and I thought after this last one she was done. I came in the door today and saw this: WHAT IS THIS?! I'm seriously concerned!! She's been trying to push it...
