I have a 5 year old son who is going to go nuts over his chameleon calendar in his stocking this year! Can not wait to see it myself! Will be hard not to flip through it as soon as it gets here! Congrats to all of those who entered the photo contest last year, and to those who made the calendar! :D
I couldn't decide if this should go into breeding or enclosures and supplies. Ultimately I went with enclosures and supplies as a laying bin is a necessity when owning a female that lays eggs. Recently aquired a 3-4 month old female. As in last week. I'd like to get her bin in her enclosure asap...
Wow, this first year flew by! Can't believe Mookie Joe is 1 already! I think I'll post a couple for his hatch day photo then a few throw back :) the first was taken indoors with an LED light shining on him.
Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing little Miss Jaquelynn. Newest and tiniest member of the family! Have been looking at getting a female for a little bit. I really would like to have just one clutch from mookie Joe a few years from now to have a legacy. Just one clutch though. Anyway, so to...
:( mouth rot?!?!
Your Chameleon - xantholophus, male, approximately 1 1/2. October 2013 he came to live with me
Handling - once a month or so - he's not mean, doesn't bite, just doesn't like to be held. Displays stressed colors when I hold him so I avoid it.
Feeding - crickets, supers...
So I decided to try my hand at a fecal- I just bought my son a microscope and he was more then willing to look at poop through it. unfortunately- we have parasites. They have never had them before - we always got a clean bill of health from the vet. Glad I decided to check him out. Just curious-...
I know some feed these to their chameleons, I'm actually looking to put them in My garden so I don't have to use harsh pesticides. Does anyone know where I can buy some? Every place I find is sold out! :(
Mookie joe is right at 6 months. Yesterday we had overcast, but 77 degree weather. Right around 4-5 o'clock the sun finally came out and it dropped two degrees. PERFECT for the boys!
So my neighbor and best friend BKfritz has a new veiled as you know, finally was able to give him a photo shoot today! I will just give a sneak peak. BKfritz will have all the rest :D
Have y'all heard of the wine and pallet classes? Basically you go, drink wine, and do a painting. In my case, I'd rather have a few mixed drinks :p Last night we painted lilacs and daisies. Of course, I had to put my signature on the painting. Just chose not to do my John Hancock. :D
The...
Thank you to all who voted for my photo of Mookie Joe! I am so thrilled that we placed!! The competition was amazing. Such great photos! JannB's hatch day photo of Sage was absolutely breath taking! Very much deserved first place. Sage makes me want a veiled :D and that background! Wowza! Wish...
What do you guys think of 36 length 24 width and 48 height ? My cage builder is in town and this is the dimensions I think I want. They will be their outdoor cages until winter time rolls around, then they will become the permanent enclosures.
Well my new nephew chameleon is arriving tomorrow! I'm so excited to have another chameleon enthusiast so close to me! The fact that she is my best friend/sister makes it even better. We can swap feeders and provide an awesome variety for our chams without breaking the bank or wasting feeders...
I'm ordering my first batch of vita crickets. Wondering if anyone has ever used these before. I really like the idea of them being raised on nutritionally enriched formulas.
Alright I uploaded the ones from the Nikon, but the Nikon died after awhile and I had to switch to the iPhone. Which can catch some pretty amazing shots too! I'll start with the macro eyes from my olloclip. Hope you enjoy :)
Well, since I have lifting restrictions from my surgery on sunday, not much house work could be done. Today was beautiful, so I took the boys outside, chameleon and human, and we enjoyed the sunshine! Still learning to work this Nikon, but I managed to snag some decent shots :D
