Hello all,
Unfortunately I have to part with my veiled chameleon, Ralph. I cannot ship him and his enclosure, so you must be near Folsom/El Dorado Hills, or even the Sacramento area if you are willing to drive a bit. I purchased Ralph in January from Reptile Depot, he's almost 10 months now, and...
Hi, I've been on the forums for awhile but I just got my chameleon (Ralph) on Jan. 4 and I'm concerned about an odd brownish somewhat bumpy/deformed area on the tip of his tail. The store I got him from seemed to be taking good care of their chams (screen cages, real plants, knowledgeable), but...
I'm not sure if this should be posted in the wanted section of the classifieds or not, if so, oops. :)
Anyways, after wanting a chameleon and researching them for probably over two years, I think I'm finally ready & able to get one :D ! I've finally got the enclosure all figured out, although I...
I'm not much of a green thumb when it comes to houseplants, and I need some help identifying a suspected pest on a Schefflera Arboricola I purchased yesterday for my (future) cham's enclosure.
The plant looks pretty healthy overall, but when I looked closer at the stems, there are these weird...
Long story short: I don't have a cham yet but I'm still working on setting up the enclosure and I need one more plant.
Long story long: I've already killed a hibiscus (although further inspection showed that the plant appeared to have no root system so it may not have been my fault) and a...
So I bought a nice Schefflera Arboricola about a month ago from Home Depot. It seemed pretty full and healthy when I bought it, but after having it for a day leaves started turning dark brown and dropping. I assumed it was the plant's way of adjusting to the lower lighting (although my room is...
So after like a year with being obsessed with chams and convincing a certain family member to let me get one, I finally decided on a nosy be panther chameleon. Long story short: I am now reconsidering and thinking of getting a veiled chameleon and saying to heck with my plans for a panther. So I...
Not sure if I posted this in the right place... sorry
First off, I don't normally feel the need to share apps. Like, never. But I feel like I would be doing a disservice to chameleon keepers near and far if I didn't share this extremely useful app with you. :)
When I saw it I was just like...
About how big is a Pothos able to grow in a standard 4 inch pot? I'm trying to figure out how many I'll need to fill up the top half of the cage (XL Reptibreeze 2x4x4). Pics would be great. Thanks :)
So if you don't already know what I'm talking about follow this link --> http://www.amazon.com/Magnaturals-Small-Planter-Ledge-Earth/dp/B00376BZJY
I want to get one of these because I think they're pretty cool, but they only support 4" pots and I want something bigger than that. Does anyone...
What do you guys use for an enclosure stand? I have an XL Reptibreeze and I can't seem to find anything that is 2ft x 2ft! Something like a nightstand with a cabinet would work. Or an aquarium stand, but those are expensive.
So I recently bought a new hand pump mister thingy, washed it, filled it up, and then I tested it. It worked fine, I emptied out the extra water and put it away with the lid sitting on it (but not screwed on) to allow any extra water to dry. I come back the next day and there's a ring of mold in...
So I finally decided I'm getting a chameleon (yay! :) ) and I have started setting up the enclosure (will post pics when finished) but I have a couple questions about lighting. First of all, there seems to be some conflict about how long the uvb bulbs (I'm using a reptisun 5.0 T5 HO) actually...
Of course all chameleons are cute, but I'm trying to convince some certain anti-reptile family members to like chams, so I need to see all of your cutest cham pics! :-) thanks in advance :D
I know it's winter right now, but for those of you who keep Jackson's or other montane species, how do you keep them cool in the summertime? It's usually around 80°F, but no more than 83°F (which I read is about the basking temp of a Jackson's) during the day in summer INSIDE my house. At night...
Now obviously most of you will say chameleon but hear me out...
So, I've been saving up, and now I have what I call "a little something for me" money and I want either a chameleon or a fancy dslr camera. I've done a lot of research, I've made pros and cons lists, I've even had friends and family...
These are some of my favorite chameleon videos on youtube. I think they really show the colors and personality of chameleons.

So I get that chameleons in general are solitary and difficult to care for, but out of Panther, Veiled, Carpet, and Jackson's chameleons which would you say is good for beginners and doesn't mind being handled every now and then?
Every chameleon is different so thanks for offering your...
I really love chameleons, and I really love my family. However, my family does not really love the idea of live insects in the house (they like chameleons though). What are some ways you would convince a stubborn family member to be ok with bugs in the house? Where do you keep your feeder...
This is what I've come up with so far for my future chameleon's enclosure...
