It is with regret that I am putting my awesome cham, Marshawn, up for sale.
Life situations as they are, my partner is very uncomfortable with the live feeders and not a fan of reptiles. I find I am not devoting the time I should be to caring for him and as he is relegated to the top floor of...
So I had a chrysalis open at some time today, the moth looks healthy enough other than its deformed wings....
Hopefully the others will be okay. I have tried really hard to keep them moist.
Very cute though!!
Had my first batch of flies hatch out in the enclosures today. WOW what a show! I worked from home today and got to watch the boys in action. They don't have 100% accuracy however, but they were persistent.
Thanks Nick for giving all that great info about them....I am going to have to try...
Who wants to check in?
Currently I have 12 hornworm Pupae snuggled beneath a warm blanket of EcoEarth. Gently getting misted each day.
14 hours of warm sunlight provided by a mercury vapor light.
Privacy provided by a vinyl shower curtain, hopefully covering the areas that will most...
I have a very talented daughter and she did this great piece of digital art for me for my birthday and I wanted to show it off to everyone!
She did it so I can print it out at about 8 x 10 and have it framed.
Marshawn loves his hornworms!!
So I set up a large plant outside their enclosures. Marshawn came out and nicely sat on the vines...although he did spy Golden Tate on his way by and had to show off a bit.
Golden had to respond in kind...
I was so excited when I put the vine into Golden's enclosure (he is the one...
I received my enclosures yesterday and I want to give as unbiased a review as I can to date. I have had 4 different types of enclosures with these chams so I have some strong opinions. I will be comparing them to Reptibreeze, DIY and Reptarium and how they went together and the features...
Got my Dragon Strand Enclosures. Had my little helper out while I was putting them together.
Just taking a little break.
Got them both fully set up today. Would love input on how they look. I don't know if they have too much foliage, or if that is even possible. There is a pothos...
The move itself was not very dramatic. I have used pop up hampers as temp enclosures while i did some redesign. When i tore down the enclosures i found a crap ton of dubias under the pan. I was prepared with the shopvac but decided that i really hated those pans. Soooo, since the table i have is...
So after I have planted the viv added some springtails etc, is there a time to let the plant life and reach some equilibrium before adding the cham inhabitants or are they needed to maintain the springtail/isopod colony.
I am really excited about this project.
Is there a member who has...
So next month I am going to get some green banana roaches and I am a little nervous about their climbing ability. Has anyone ever used a product called Slippery Feet. I found it on Pangea's site, I have not been about to find any reviews about it.
If you have used it, please let me know...
My oldest daughter called me the other day to let me know she was accepted into Cornell's vet school. Rated #1 in the country!!
Crazy girl is not sure she is going to accept and is waiting to hear from University of Wisconsin... apparently there will be new construction at Cornell the whole...
I was reading a few articles and I read that one can place a nocturnal lizard in the enclosure to catch those rogue feeders that hide and come out at night. I have been looking for a small, insectivorous, nocturnal Gecko.
I have seen a few things about African Banded Velvet Gecko, it is...
Wondering if I can use the leaves that fall off the Sheffeleras that are in my Panther enclosures when I set up the Pygmy enclosures. It would five me an endless supply.
If so, should I bake them on a low oven to dry them out or just naturally let them decompose?
I'm moving at the end of the month and expect that it will take a few hours at least to tear down, move and set up the boy's enclosures in the new place.
I have looked at a few carriers, I am thinking either one of the soft side but am a bit leary. I do intend to move them to the new place...
Gotta love that Green & Blue. GO SEAHAWKS!!!
I might change his name to Golden Tate...He looks great on the field, loves to show off, but he's a real a**hole...
He still hates me so much LOL.
He's almost 7 months old now.
