    Cleaning outdoor enclosures

We have had our male veiled for a few months now, and all is going well. Had a molt removal session with cammie resting/climbing on my fore arm. Each claw mark(150 or so) was red for a full day. It got me thinking if there is a deep cleaning/disinfection needed. This is a large 100% outdoor...

Drainage Systems for Cages - get creative!

Here is my drainage, it is a vinyl liner from lowes draped with a 5" depression at one end. I filled it with water to check where the bottom is. Cut a hole for the bar sink basket and now I can use a 1.5" standard sink piping to drain into a bucket. Cost ~20 bucks. Only draw back is I overlayed...

Coreid bug as a feeder? Bitta flavolineata

Hello all, Right now we have our 7 week old veiled on small crickets and superworms. But we have a pink trumpet tree in our yard that has coreid bugs on it just about year round. Being a real 'bug' it is a plant sucker and not a biter. Anyone have experience with this one or have advice...

    Opinions on outdoor enclosure

I have to pull the coco fiber and put something else on the shelf but the original idea was to reposition the heat lamp (ceramic at night) in the winter (FL) to make a warm box. I have the 4th piece of plexi to make it cozy, but to still have access to the rest of the cage. We will see how it...

The light is over the dry shaded side but angled toward the sunny side. There is a platform that keeps on corner dry and cool/shaded from sun and bulb

Inside dimensions are 54"x48"x20" and it is inside a screen porch. We used 1/4" metal screen on the top to let light in but overall with shading it probably only gets 20% of full blazing sun. Power sun is UVA, UVB and heat. I found him basking in front of the bulb once on a rainy day

    Opinions on outdoor enclosure

Hello all, Lots of reading and research. We now are on day 5 with our baby veiled chameleon. We have been pretty successful with crickets and superworms. The enclosure has powersun 100w, and a drip system for now. Being florida humidity has not been an issue yet. About a third of the cage is...

Easy ways to feed baby crickets??

We are new to the game, day three here. Had great success today dusting the small crickets (which slows them down) and grabbing a hind leg and he eats them right out of our hands. My seven year old did two and I did 4 this way. He caught 3/4 that I set on a leaf in front of him. He is a 2 MO veiled.

My new baby veiled!!! Question question

Cool, we are two days in with our baby veiled as well but from everything I have read a dripper is needed to keep plants wet and humidity up. Misting systems are better but pricey at this point. Good luck, this forum is a great resource. We have been hand feeding as well as just handling
