I would agree with 8-9 months. I upgraded from my reptibreeze to a 48 x24 x48 enclosure at about 6months though just to give him room to roam. Looking at my boy now at 9 months its hard to imagine him in the smaller cage, but certainly possible.

I am sorry to bump this depressing thread. A necropsy was never offered despite my expression that I would like to know the cause. I should have been more firm, however this was not my strongest moment.
I am hoping that this does not deter me completely from getting another, I truly loved...
It breaks my heart to say that the vet just called and Creature has passed. Thank you everyone for taking the time to reply. They were unsuccessful in their attempt to get bloodwork, and are quite honestly unsure of the cause.
cham creator: 150w full blast would certainly be too hot. I...
His physical examination showed nothing (no obvious infection, mbd, etc.)aside from fatigue but we knew that.
They are going to do bloodwork, xray, and give fluids and hold him for 24-48hours
They did say with as weak as he is prognosis is only 12-20%, and it sounded more like they were...
Over the last two days I've seen (what I view as) a rapid decline in my chams(~10month old Ambilobe) health. He is usually very active and eats and drinks well. About a week ago I noticed him showing stress colors(black barring) more frequently for no apparent reason but in all other regards...
Sounds like you put the animals' well being ahead of your own(psychological).
As a fellow "shy person", I can certainly understand how difficult that type of situation can be.
kudos to you. :)
I'm also torn on this for when I upgrade Creature's cage. I like the width and depth of the palace, but the height of DIYcages XL
Why couldn't the Kammers have a 48" tall cage? That would solve my dilemma.
I am no expert so i will refrain from giving any advice. However, it is typically advised to fill out this form so that those that actually know what they are talking about can assist.

In my opinion the best approach would be to introduce yourself, show your interest in the animals, and let that lead into a conversation about their care.
Generally speaking, it is in poor taste to go over somebody's head before trying to resolve the issue directly with them.
let the paranoia continue...just curious if these whitish grey spots on his side are normal. I believe they have been there since he arrived but he did a full shed his first day so i'm not 100% sure...
yes i'm going to be paranoid about absolutely everything until i know he is happy and...
thank you both for the replies. I did drop the temps slightly(was reading 86 before i left for work) so I assume as long as the gaping doesnt continue i shouldn't be worried about it. I'm still not sure if it was the temp, him being pissed at me, or something else.
I'm slightly more...
My understanding is that Supercal NoD IS no D3...is that incorrect. My understanding is also that many keepers use the supercal plus cutting method. I am aware it is not exactly standard, but has proven effective by experienced keepers. Does that mean that I should change it due to my...
