It's been almost a year since I've posted anything. Been busy with life and our baby girl.
Just wanted to share our Stud, Ziggy. He is the only offspring we kept from Cami's last clutch. Thankfully Cami made it in the 2015 calendar where she could be admired by fellow chameleon lovers. She will...
So my sister wanted to "check out" Carter's at a nearby outlet and OF COURSE you CAN'T leave without wanting or buying SOMETHING!
My bf and I are expecting and I'm on my last month's stretch. My sister pointed this shirt out to me, in the boys section.
We're having a girl, but I...
This little one is a few days shy of 2wks old.
I was wondering if it is possible to tell the gender this early or how old would they need to be to be able to really tell for sure?
Greetings everyone!
The last time I was on here was about a month ago when our one and only Cami passed away. :(
Today I am posting to welcome our newest addition to our veiled family, Luna the translucent veiled! :) Cami will NEVER be replaced. It's just nice to have another girl around...
GREETINGS EVERYONE!
It has been quite some time since I have posted, commented, or viewed on this forum!
My farewell is to my ever so sweet and loving Cami the chameleon. She passed away last week very unexpectedly... my boyfriend was much more devastated by her passing and we both still...
Greetings everyone!
I currently have roughly 19 (out of a clutch of 33) 4month old veileds and 56 2week old veileds I need to find homes for.
This is my first time breeding, although not intentional, and so far both clutches have been successfully hatched.
I am not having very much luck...
My second clutch (of 53 ) started hatching last weekend.
As I was watching the newborns crawl around I noticed one missing the toes on the back leg, originally i thought it was just missing them on one leg but later checked and found it was both. :(
He or She (not sure how I'll be...
Our biggest and brightest female of the clutch and I think I've decided to keep her. :D
She shall be named, Mellow. We shall she if she keeps the bright colors as she grows!
So for a while I was using rocks to cover the dirt in our potted plants, as is the suggestion from many owners, to prevent the curious chams from consuming the dirt.
Regardless of using containers to put our feeders in, crix can still jump out and some supers still find some magical way to...
All 33 are accounted for! Plus an adopted cousin. (not literally)
I was watching the babies eat this morning and went to check on my crestie eggs. One hatched! The other one will probably hatch within the next 2 days. :D
Cleaned out their bin today and thought it was a good chance to take...
I am relieved to announce that all 33 of our first clutch hatched successfully!
They sure are A LOT of work, but I absolutely LOVE them! I never wanna go in to work because I just want to stay home all day and watch them!:D
Here's to hoping they will make it through this fragile stage of...
So other than the great deal I got on the light hoods today.
I go to check on the first clutch of veild eggs... AND THEY'RE HATCHING!!!:eek::eek:
I wasn't expecting them until next month or the latest, october!!!
I had planned to take a late afternoon nap from an eventful weekend...
Made a stop to our local petsmart store to buy the kids some supers and found out they were re-locating and having a 70% off sale on everything except food and live animals!
Most of the store was nearly empty, but we ran across some left overs! Got 2 UVB hoods and a light for less than $40...
Cami had a very different coloration and pattern here compared to her variations of "normal" colors. She looked... "chalky" here and thought it was quite interesting.
Loki usually has darker colors displayed whether or not I handle him. Occasionally he will lighten up, but nothing like Zeke...
Feeding Schedule Question
Been quite some time since I've been on the forum viewing or making posts.
I'm sure this question has been addressed many times.
How often should I/ do I need to be feeding my veilds? Last I read; babies and juvi's can be fed as much as they can because they are...
Decided to have a photo session with the kids in Lieu of St. Patrick's Day. (Late I know)
They sure were hard to take pictures with, but it was fun.
Tried to make it quick since I didn't want to stress them out too much being close to each other, but they were too busy trying to run away...
Just wanted to share as well as show and tell my girls' eggs!
I have 33 growing Veiled eggs so far. The left is the 2month mark and the right was the 1month mark. :)
The other photo is of our Crested Gecko, Sofi's, eggs. 1st clutch is a little over 2months and the 2nd one is about 1month...
I noticed my female displaying this type of pattern lately when she basks under her lights. Not all the time though, just lately on occasions.
I've seen the receptive female video that's posted, and she has displayed those colors along with the gaping mouth when she sees our male.
Lately...
Love when they look all cuddled up with their tails curled.
Loki is still sensitive to flashing lights, sorry little one. The other two will sleep through anything. Haha!
Never in a million years did I ever think I'd own a Chameleon. Now I have 3 and 34 little eggies due in 4-8 months...
