hi all,
I was recently admitted to a graduate program in Miami and will need to part ways w/ my male panther; moving him, my dog, and all my other stuff and then finding a new spot to live is going to be too much of a hassle.
I would obviously like to sell to a member of this community...
had my panther free ranging, was gonna try and grab a video of him hunting a small mantis, but I could barely get near the plant without him going cross-eyed with excitement
oh well, here's what I managed to get
Ive been doin the motorcycle thing for about 7 years now, would love to see how many of you are fellow riders
feel free to post up some pics of your non-cham baby!
Ill keep the mantis for a day or two on some of my dubia nymphs just to make sure he isnt loaded up with pesticides before I try to get some shots of him getting chowed
kinda feel bad though...used to be ecstatic when I found these guys as kids, kept em as pets
saw that quite a few of you were into saltwater tanks and wanted to share some pics from when I was running a 55gal reef tank w/ two 120W LED fixtures and a 36" t5
Ive been thinking real hard about starting up a nano tank again... but ill stick to one wallet-crippling hobby at a time
sexy...
the panther
tried sharing some pics and put them in field obs. instead :p ...got it right this time though
just recently shed, he practically jumps out of his old skin...no more than a few hours and its all off
he's still a bit young at 7 months, but he practically flew out of the...
hey all, I had my forays into reef keeping back in the day and was always fascinated with the extreme color changes you get with coral when introducing high spectrum blue LEDs or high kelvin MH lights. The color change comes from fluorescent proteins that hit their peak excitation with high...
hi all
So Ive been spot cleaning as necessary but will eventually want to try a deeper clean to rid any paranoia of building bacteria or mold.
Ive read that a number of people try a mild hydrogen peroxide spray with no ill effects. I am mildly worried about its effect on the dead sphagnum...
Hey all
so as these things (rapidly) grow, Im beginning to realize that my plan to feed them until they were an inch or longer was not a well thought out plan :p
needless to say I would like to thin my numbers considerably to save space and food
They range from 1/4" to 1/2" and I...
So originally I was only gonna buy a couple thousand and hatch them out as I needed. Coastal was generous enough to sell their previous stock of eggs at a killer deal so they had space for their new eggs, but couldnt ship w/ ice
result:
and then, a few days after hatching, kegos mixed in...
My chameleon and I have a very simple agreement; he doesnt attack me when I open the viv, and I supply his food. As of late, he has been testing how far he can bend that rule
normally, he waits high in the vines by his basking spot when I feed him in the AM. Yesterday he decided to hang a...
its been about a week since I got him, so I figured Id take him outside today and give him a chance to get some sun
He wasnt too happy with me at first, but he warmed up to the concept pretty quick:
Hey all, calling on the silkworm experts to give their two cents
I have a sub-adult ambilobe that eats silks like a pig (in a addition to just about everything else, but we'll leave those out for simplicity)
Right now Im buying pre-hatched silkworms and growing them out, but would like to...
Hey all, new(ish) here, wanted to share my plan and progress as I remodel a vivarium to suit a panther chameleon
The newest acquisition stands about 6' tall and 2' wide, and includes a ~2' cabinet space underneath. Its all wood and comes with a glass door.
Ive done a mock up on...
