    Who says bugs aren’t pretty?

Gyna centurio: these are the guys with the patchwork design, have an orangish/pink color the camera doesn’t pick up well. Gyna caffrorum: the chrome roaches with the whitish/silver powdery colors below. Probably the most common of gyna genus roaches, but very beautiful IMO. Not too difficult...

Could use some centerpiece tree/plant ideas

Just finished building my XL reptibreeze, going to start work on building the substrate tray+stand soon. The idea is to make this enclosure a work of art. I’ll be replacing some of the screen with plexiglass along with a bunch of other things. So something I’m considering ATM is what tree to...

    Anyone have a pond?

I’ve been interested in keeping ducks for eggs lately. Originally I wanted chickens, but after some reading, ducks seem like a good choice. I’ve read a few guides on making a natural ‘self cleaning’ pond… pretty much a large scale bioactive pond lol. Doesn’t seem all that complicated, but was...

    Fish tank UV sterilizers

Does anyone know a lot about these(as in, more than what typical Google results will tell me)? UV is supposed to make water safe for drinking, even for people. I’m familiar with them being used in aquarium hobbies for a variety of reasons as well. Water passing through should kill any...

Wow giant canyons isopods are resilient

When I tore down all my bug bins, I left a bin full of cork and giant canyon isopods one my garage all winter. Our temps regularly get below freezing and sometimes below 0… opened the bin today to see isopods still crawling around!

Replacing reptibreeze screen with clear siding??

The reptibreeze enclosures are pretty convenient for a lot of species, but I’m not crazy about their looks. Has anyone tried simply cutting out the screen and replacing it with some sort of clear film, or sheet of plexiglass/whatever for a better view? I was thinking that + painting it with a...

Is anyone breeding quads/graciliors, montium, Kenyan line Jackson’s or any other trioceros these days?

Hey all, I’ve been out of the hobby for a little. Rehomed my last Cham (my parsons) a little while back to a good keeper, who will give him the opportunity to breed. The space he required was too much for our house and I started getting burnt out by the constant long shower watering...

    Toe infection

Has anyone delt with toe infections? My cham broke a couple toenails off that I missed while he was outside. Acted normal and I just overlooked it unfortunately(my mistake, should be checking more frequently). It scabbed over and doesn't have any pus, but there is a bit of swelling which has...

    Salamanders are underrated

Find these guys in my yard/woods every summer. They're beautiful, very fast, huddle in groups, and fairly large(not huge, but probably as long as my finger).

    Is keeping WC animals ethical?

Okay, to start, I didn't know where to put this because it isn't really directed at chameleons... I'm all for keeping WC in the cases of breeding to increase/make possible CB populations of animals. Crabs are the main animal that got me thinking... I've really wanted a land crab(patriot and/or...

    Superworms can't drown

Well, I'm sure they can lol, but I learned something these past 2 days. Twice i left a superworm out in the rain on accident... fully submerged in a cup of water for hours. Dumped it out not moving thinking it was dead... come back few hours later, it's moving again!

    Japanese beetles

These are everywhere this time of year. Great potential as feeders. They like eating grape leaves which are very nutritious(and most insects don't like eating grape leaves for whatever reason). I caught some and kept them in a deli cup for a couple days before feeding off.

    Critique my outdoor enclosure

My parson's summer home... about 8 feet tall by 10 feet in length. I think just under 4 feet wide. I had to foam a few holes... he got his head stuck in one(very scary, but he's alright thank god. Never thought he'd try pushing his head through a little golf ball sized hole in the wire.). Had...

Possible to use old cans of great stuff foam(never opened)?

I have 10+ can of great stuff pond and stone I had sitting around for an old project I never did lol. Didn't realize they apparently have best by dates. Well I have to foam some things up and 2 cans now wouldn't dispense the foam, but I could hear the liquid shaking inside. When i screwed the...

    Bug/isopod people... white P. Dilatatus(giant canyon)

I must have a thousand giant canyons, I have seen maybe 2-3 ever like this. One was spotted which I wish I would have put aside, but honestly I was thinking maybe it was a fresh molt or whatever and ignored it(I'm not an expert on isopods, just keep several species). Well I put this one aside...
