    Having a little problem

I knew about the fat in the head pads. However, I have always thought that the tails of all lizards to be much thicker when they are healthy. I guess I assumed it was extra fat. If it is not fat is it just bigger bones and muscle? Thank You, Terry

    Having a little problem

Looks too skinny Can you please post additional pictures of your chameleon? Can you show me his tail? For the picture I see he looks very skinny. Since he stores fat in his tail it would help to see his tail in a picture. How long have you had the lights for? How long have you been worried...

    claws

Claws Gone It is said to see that your chameleon has lost some of its claws. Have you had this chameleon since it was a baby? I was just curious to know if you bought him this way and did not know or it this truly happened in his current environment. Is this chameleon the only one in his cage...

Need opinions in enclosure good or bad

Large Plants The cage is looking good so far. I was wondering the size of it. It looks like the 24 x 24 x 48 Inch cage by ReptiBreeze. If you add a large ficus tree, how will you get it in and out (for cleaning)? I keep thinking the horizontals will get in the way. I too would stay away from a...

Quick question about chameleon sleeping while lights are on.

Early to Bed I have also see a few of my chameleons go towards the bottom of the cage away from the lights to catch a few Z's before it is bed time. I think it is perfectly normal and depends on the character of the chameleon and maybe even depends on how much exercise the got that day:) Terry

    Hello, everyone!!

Keeping it Simple Congratulations on the new addition to the family. One thing you might want to do to keep things simple and consistent is the use of a timer for your lights. You can pick them up at your local depot. Here is a link to what I am using...

Need help with my female Veiled!

Egg Laying If you have live potted plants in her cage then you may catch her trying to dig in them first. That is when I moved my gravid Graceful Chameleon into her external laying bin and she was all done by the morning. Good luck with everything. Terry

    Need to find food ASAP!

Size Looks Fine That cricket size looks fine based on the size of his head. Do you know what he preferred to eat before you got him? Maybe he is just a little picky about what he eats. Terry

    it's here!

New Veiled I would use a feeder cup to make it easier on the little guy. This also keeps the crickets away from the Chameleons at night when they can go after a chameleon's eyes. I would just line the bottom of the cage with newspapers. I also agree that the one eye shut is not a good thing. I...

    Need to find food ASAP!

Small Food I would recommend ordering the correct size crickets online. I think your little guy could eat 1/4 crickets fine. Try out http://www.flukerfarms.com/crickets.aspx .You could order 250 (smallest size). You can keep them in another container and gut load them which is necessary since...

Is my living situation right for a Chameleon?

Forgetful Student Make sure you don't forget timers. That way if you forget the timers don't. They are great for controlling the lights and the misters. I make sure that when the lights are off that the misters are off too. I live in Texas and it is pretty dry here too. I just make sure I mist...
