It's been a while since I have shared some photos of my boys. They have grown up so nicely. What is very funny is to see how each has developed. Both are from the same clutch, raised the same and in the same type of enclosures, however, their personalities are so different. Sky is a chilled...
I'm wondering about housefly maggots as a feeder. I know that the beardie loves them and I order them from a breeder that breeds them specifically as feeders. Would it be a good supplement feeder for my veileds? They should be ok with the flies as well?
Rocco nearly caused a mini heart attack just now. Over weekends I leave both their cages open and they can freely roam between their cages and their free range trees. They both love the bit of freedom. Come lights out time they go back to their cages and they always sleep on the same spot every...
I had the little ones out of their cages today on the free range tree. I hanged 2 little buckets with crics in it for them. So funny when they focus on the same bucket
Roco is a full 6 weeks and only with me for a day. What a feisty boy. Took him from the free range tree to put him in his enclosure for sleepy time. And what do you know, he hissed at me with that tiny body. Something tells me he will be the boss in this house
My latest and final addition to the clan at home. Roco came to me as a heart replacement for Jingles who are being released. He is from the same clutch as Sky and I was lucky enough that the breeder still had 3 babies left.
It is a very sad time for me and mr Jingles. I bought Mr J from a guy that did not tell me that it is illegal for me to keep him in SA. And me not knowing anything did not know what species he was.I only found out that I am not allowed to keep him from other SA members on this forum and that...
I bought more cham friendly plants and trees for my flat so the babies can get use to being out their cages. Mr Jingles are feeling slighly overwhelmed, all I see of him is one eye watching my every move. Sky however is exploring every single branch and leave to see where it's going. Gotta love...
So I have Sky now for 3 days. I know the set up is good, I see him eat between 10 and 20 pinheads a day, he drinks so cutely from the leaves. Yet, he's so so small and I second guess everything. I really did not think I will stress and worry so much about him. Mr Jingles is doing so well, I...
He looked so cute this morning after the lights came on. Seems like he is praying for me to please hurry up with the cricket bowl. He came down so fast when that bowl came in
At long last I managed to track down a breeder in South Africa. I'm on my way to go get my baby boy from him. I'm super excited, he is supplying me with everything, the enclosure, lights, décor inside the whole set up. Now I must just think of a nice name for him. Will post pics tonight to...
Do you think cb chams recognise snakes as their enemies? Has such a giggle at Mr Jingles yesterday. When I'm home we open his cage and he can roam a little around his enclosure. My 6 year old son has bought himself a juvenile Kenyan Sand boa on sunday and are carrying this snake all over. Poor...
So we had the reptile exco close to us this weekend, and although I didn't get another cham, I got such a nice enclosure for Mr Jingles. I'm so impressed with it, we can easily semi free range and have the enclosure for when I'm at work.
What dobyou think?
A terrible terrible thing has happened to my sister's baby cham. She got her cham the same day as I got Mr Jingles and they are from the same clutch. Today she put them outside in their enclosure for some sun. When she came out an hour or so later the one little one was missing. She searched...
Is here anybody here that can point me in the right direction where I can get a legal baby cham (any species) I don't want to get another illegal species.
None of the petshops in my area sell chams or even know where I can get one.
Hallo, I have something that concerns me a bit. I've read on all the forums that a temp drop is important for a good night for chams, but what do you do in winter. I'm maintaining a good 29 to 32 degrees celcius during the day for basking, but our temps are fallling to around 5 degrees celsius...
