    New panther chemeleons!

Hello everyone, I'm back! I used to be a bit more active a couple of years ago when I had my t. elliotis (which ended up being so hard to come by it was hard to keep them...) and a female veiled. For those of you that saw my post in the heath section know a bit about my chameleons already, but...

How/What to feed a chameleon missing half her teeth

Hello everyone! I recently purchased a pair of panther chameleons from my local pet store (The male is such a lovely animal. Very trusting and hand feeds already, I fell in love with him at first sight. I think he saw my red hair and wanted to climb on it!). Both are roughly 2-3 years old...

    Most comfortable sleeping position ever!

So, I got Yuki a new viv recently as some of you may know. It seems that she now has a new favourite place to sleep! Let me tell you, it looks "really comfortable"! She's been sleeping like this for the past week, on the same branch, in the same position. It's not like she doesn't have enough...

    Marimo & Midori (T./C. Ellioti)

I moved Midori in with Marimo yesterday after Midori had been quarantined while waiting on her fecal results (everything was perfect!), so I figured I would post some pictures of the two. Everything is working wonderfully, the vivarium is big enough for them, although I will be getting a new one...

    Healthy Female Veiled Chameleon weight?

So I just got back from the vet with Yuki, we had some X-Rays done to see whether or not she had eggs, just in case. Also wanted to make sure her bones were fine without signs of MBD, even if she's always getting her calcium etc. Can't hurt, right? Everything went awesomely. She has no eggs...

    T./C. ellioti - Female?

Sometimes Midori does not look as she seems. Marimo was, from the day I got him at 2 and a half months, obviously male. Midori on the other hand, I am not sure if she's really female. Sometimes, when her tail is curled, she seems to be male. With tails straight, female! Darned elliotis...

Fruits & Vegetables with a high Vitamin A content?

Hello! I kinda need a bit of help here :) I believe that Yuki is showing signs of Vitamin A deficiency (skin around the throat that looks like there's "air" or something behind it and when it goes down, her eyes become puffy instead) and would like to know some chameleon safe fruits and...

    Temporary UVB+Heat Bulb in one

I was wondering if, as a temporary solution, it would be alright to have a combination lightbulb that does both UVB and Heat. This would be for a couple of months, till summer at MOST, until I can build together a stand for Yuki's new vivarium. I plan on building in some nice tubes for him then...

    Uromastyx - Kondo & Tae

Decided on names for these two after almost a year! They're estimated to be 4-5 years old. They're awesome pets, and I thought I would share them with you guys! Kondo: Tae (with Kondo in the background): Tae (left) & Kondo (right): Unfortunately the pictures aren't amazing...

Aphids as a food source for small chams?

Just wondering if I should order some aphids for my new little elliot's chameleon. The flies I have at home are too big at the moment. I would grab pinhead crickets, but they tend to hide and disappear without being eaten. Fruitflies I will be getting tomorrow, but I'd like to get something else...

Just got back from Hamm (Reptile Expo)...

...and found Marimo a girlfriend! Finally, after almost a year of searching. She's quite a dear :) Her name is Midori. We also had a bit of an unexpected and unintentional purchase... He's going into Yuki's old vivarium until he grows bigger ;) His name is Ryuu. I'd have liked to get...

    Yuki's (Veiled) & Marimo's (Elliot's) new pictures!

I figured it was about time I posted some more pictures of the two chameleons! After all, it's only been about a year since I last posted pictures... Yuki has grown bunches, both in size and in attitude. You can't even tell how she originally looked :D She looks tubby all the time, but really...

How to tell if a veiled is carrying eggs?

Since I am inexperienced in the world of chameleon moms, I would like to know what I should look for in order to determine whether of not a chameleon is carrying eggs. Is there a way to tell... either be feeling her side (or near the back legs?) or looking or in general some typical behaviour of...

New Uromastyx (Spiny-tailed lizards) - Naming Help!

I'll post some pics tomorrow, the little ones are sleeping right now.. ;) We got a pair of Uromastyx a couple of days ago (male/female pair) and we're having a bit of trouble naming them! I would be most appreciative if you guys could give us a couple of naming ideas for them :)

Cricket with yellow eyes? (Warning: Creepy cricket image!)

I just bought a couple of large crickets for Yuki yesterday, and I noticed that a couple are actually very creepy looking... Normally I am not grossed out by any kind of bug or whatever, but these ones look really odd. I just wanted to know if it was normal! Not all of them have these yellow...

    Rose Chafer Larvae question...

So I bought Yuki (my Veiled) some Rose Chafer Larvae today. I like spicing things up, and she loves her phoenix worms (she rips them out of my hand before I can even position my hand properly) and I thought some nice juicy rose chafer larvae would be nice for the mix! There's 10 of them in...

Planning on breeding crickets and starting a roach colony...

..but there are a few questions I'd like to answer! I'm going to be using large plastic bins with a hole in the top and screen covering the large hole, as I have seen here on the forums. Is this enough ventilation? I read about needing a heating mat or something to heat the boxes. I was...

    Less misting for a week....

I was just wondering if my chameleons would be fine with two mistings (One in the morning and one in the evening) for a week. Right now they get 4 a day (Mornings, noon, afternoon and evening) but the people who mist during the day will be going on vacation for a week. We have someone else...

    Mantid Keeping

Indian Walking Stick Keeping To provide as much variety as possible, I have "ordered" a male and female walking stick pair. I will pick them up when I get Marimo's new and improved terrarium set up sometime in late spring. I have a bunch of questions in regards to the keeping on various...

Yuki the Veiled & Marimo the Ellioti

For those of you who don't know, I rescued Yuki from a petstore nearby at the beginning of the year. The petstore has since listened to my words, and their chameleons are a LOT better cared for now! No more bugs the size of the chameleon itself... they also only sell the older ones, not babies...
