I just started the frame of my cage, and I was thinking since I will be misting, should I use wood or plastic for the back instead of screen?
I was thinking of using screen, then placing a plastic liner behind the enclosure against the wall so the water can drip down and collect at the...
I am building my enclosure out of 2x2 wood posts, what would be the best way to connect the pieces?
My plan is to use L-Brackets (pic) to connect all the corners, would these work alright?
I assume I would need to drill pilot holes before putting the screws in, right? How do I figure out...
I was wondering if after so many months if its a good idea to change around the enclosure? Would this give the cham the feeling of a new enclosure or just stress him out?
I was thinking of possibly moving the basking spot to the other side of the enclosure in the winter or something and like...
I just picked up 8 wood posts for my new enclosure, what is the best way to treat it? I asked the guy at HD but he seemed clueless.
What would be the best protectent for the wood since I will be misting? Can I just paint the wood or do I need to seal it too or what?
I bought some black...
I am wondering what would be a good colorful flowering plant that I could use in my enclosure?
I know hisbuscis has floweres, but arent those hard to bloom with only the ubv light alone? I have an extra regular 24" flourescent bulb from my fish tank I could use if that would help?
I found redwood posts 2x2x8' for $3 a piece at home depot, would these be suitable for building a wood frame for my enclosure?
I have never worked with redwood posts so I was not sure how well it would work.
Also, for connecting the pieces together, I assume angle irons or mending plates...
I am working on a new cage design, and I am not sure what to use for the bottom?
I am reinforcing the bottom with extra beams to support plants, but what should I use for the actual bottom?
Also, for drainage I was just going to buy a cheap drain cover and cut a hole for it, would this...
I was messing around in paint, and I decided to come up with a basic design for my next enclosure I plan to build. I threw together some dimensions, which look right to me but what do you guys think?
The grayed out area at the bottom around the cage is either doing to be plastic or the mesh...
Do any of you cham owners have cats? I just bought a kitten, and I am going to be setting up my cham cage around Christmas.
Should I use PVC coated mesh, since the cat cannot break through, or can I get away with a basic enclosure from lllreptile?
I am getting a veiled again soon, and I have a few questions about the enclosure I plan to build.
What would be the best way to "cat proof" an enclosure? I am worried that the mesh is too thin, and my cat will somehow manage to get inside my chameleon enclosure when I am not home?
My idea is...
I am going to be getting a chameleon here in a month or two, and I am going to try building a custom cage.
My plan is to build a 18x24x48 enclosure out of 1.5X1.5inch beams.
What type of screen would be best? I want high visibility, but I want it to be cricket proof. Suggestions...
I was too impatient with my first veiled, I bought him to young (2months), and though I could get away with raising him in a glass tank, but that showed to be a bad idea and he died after a month. :(
I want to try this again with the help of the cham forums, I want to do it right this time...
I am not sure what happend, he seemed fine last night, but I woke up this morning and found him hanging from one back foot from the screen top, all black, and not moving, I quickly got warm water and misted him, but he did not move. I was worried for the last few weeks cause he was sleeping...
My roommate wants to sell his laptop:
It's a Dell Latitude D630 2.2ghz 2gb Ram 120GB HDD DVD-RW and built in WiFi. Its VERY light and portable, has a 14" screen, and is about 1 year old. I am including a genuine copy of Windows Office 2007 as well.
It is in perfect working condition, and...

My veiled is "hanging on for his life'' - or so it seems.
He got up on to the screen top again, but this time he is hanging from his front feet, kinda swinging his feet around every now and then, and he has been up there for about 1-2 hours now.
I moved some branches so he could grab...
