1 month old juvinile vieled chameleons

Thanks for the advice :) . I have read those and many more several times to learn . I'll continue to learn until i die . I am going to get another Chameleon anyway . Just like a vet on here learned that cricket cubes can kill , I learned substrate can kill . The 2nd Chameleon getting out of his...

1 month old juvinile vieled chameleons

Hi , I would like some advice . I have had 3 vieled so far . Eating substrate killed the first ( female ) , 1 male escaped in the outside enclosure ( or was picked off by a hawk ) and my last one ( male ) died I think from too much vitamins . I have learned some tough lessons at the animal's...

Crosses a horrible? I think not!

Are crosses fertile ??? I know other hybreds ( male donkey & horse = mule , female donkey & horse = hinney ) are not . ( Dr Oz will enojy the 2nd reference to chameleons & donkeys ever :)

    Dubia Infestation

I have my dubias in a 50 gallom aquarium . I did the shipping tape & put a strip around the top sticky side exposed . i have caught 2 small dubias in the sticky stuff . That proves they can dind the seams on the shipping tape to me :) .

    Tetramycin

I can only speak of my experience . I can't vouch for Cali , Egypt or Vietnam , but what i said is EXACTLY true here in Md , Where my farm is in Weston , WV & also in Deer Lodge Tn ... plus wherever I stopped while trucking . It is a prescription " IF " prescribed to people . The disclaimer on...

    Tetramycin

Every store that sells tropical fish has that also ( Wal-Mart included ) . I have stopped by on a trucking trip & prescribed myself many times :). Same stuff bottled for human consumption .

Help please! Malygos is not eating and looking sick

Does that mean your chamelon has water cubes ??? Water cubes , especially if dehydrated at all , can kill a chameleon. Dr O has a thread about how his cham died as a result of water cubes/crystals .

    Swallow Tail Kite (hawk)

I had a red tail hawk go thru chicken wire that was stapled very good ( pigeon/chicken pen ) . The hawk was still in shock from the impact when i discovered what had happened . If you build an outside enclosure , my advice is to have more than screen . A cage like in another thread covered with...

    Chameleon Price?

I take " a better deal " as getting the best value on what money you are going to spend . I bought a 12x12x24 exto set-up with a young female cham for $100 with a bunch of stuff that would have cost hundres more bought seperate . A few months later , I bought a 18x18x24 ecto set-up with lots of...

    Chameleon Price?

The 1rst part is in direct reply to the original OP's question . The part about the bad luck does not have anything to do with that , i mentioned that in reference to the expense mentioned in previous posts ... even though i got alot of supplies , fixtures , bulbs etc ( hundreds of dollars worth...

    Chameleon Price?

I don't disagree with the above advice , but I bought a male veiled from PetSmart . $99 regilar price on sale for $69 . 7 or 10 day health gaurantee . If any trouble , they take it back & " supposedly " have a vet attend to it . If it gets better , they offer it to you again . I had bought a...

    Chuck G.your nightcrawler/galactus boy 8-9 months

Unbiased opinion = Texas Ranger's posts came across negative with an agenda to discredit what the OP called the chameleon . Continued posts about the subject swayed it into me taking it negative . Still very mild compared to going on a goat forum & calling a male a billy ... The correct name is...

    Baby Dubia Roaches Escaping?

I have my dubia colony in a 50 gallon tank . I don't have a top on it now , but plan on adding 1 . I added the 2" packing tape & pondered the seam where it overlaps . Since that is a possible way for them to climb , I added a 2nd row & staggered the seams . Just to be on tha cautious side , i...

    Why Variety?

All animals get bored including us . During hunting season , i pen my mini horses & mini donkeys in a 50 acre field & they get bored in there . When i open the gates so they can range the whole 165 acres , I can really tell how happy they are . Plus they can forage in the woods to get vitamins...

    Why Variety?

Any dog i have ever seen likes more than just dog food . Captive animals can only eat what is available & does not get the vitamin variety that a wild animal does . I have seen animals eat dirt for a craving . It depends on how much you value the health & happiness of your animals . The comic...

    Outdoor cage suggestions

1 bit of advice I give in consideration of my experience with a hawk is to not use screen only . The hawk went thru chicken wire stapled very good ( i assume it was a high speed dive like they do ) . It was in the chicken pen & had not killed anything , but I think i came home fairly soon after...

    First time trying Dubias

5 months for a dubia to mature , a month to have babys & then waiting until they are mature enough to feed takes a HUGE amount of patience . Of course , to anybody who can wait for chameleon eggs to hatch . that would be a breeze !!! :) . Find somebody who will sell adults out of the colony ...
