I've heard so many stories about bad reptile sitters with either very ill or dead chameleons when the owner comes back off holiday.
I've got the opposite :)
We went away last week and came back today, leaving Shiver in the care of a very good friend of mine.
My friend has no reptile...

Got home from work today and found that Max, my wolf hybrid, had got into the lounge and raided my box of crickets, box was on it's side with the lid off.
I had approx 500 crickets in there!!
I've spent the last 2 hours hunting them and only seem to have found 200 ish, as you can imagine...
Anyone remember the game Frogger? Or am i just showing my age lol
I've just found it!! Yay
http://www.freeonlinegames.com/play/23.html
Been playing it for about 15 mins and can only land 3 frogs home :D
I've just been thinking ( no, it didn't hurt lol ) about bee's pollen and feeding it to feeders.
Is it possible that the bee could've gathered pollen from a flower that's poisonous to chams and would it then be possible for the cham to be poisoned via the bug that ate the pollen?
Just one of...
Just a follow on to Curly's thread,
What's the best and funniest time with your chameleons?
I haven't had Shiver long so haven't really got any good, bad or funny tales to tell yet.
So at the moment my best time was when i bought Shiver and every single second i've owned her.
No...
You might not have known this, but a lot of non-living objects are actually either male or female. Here are some examples:
FREEZER BAGS: They are male, because they hold everything in, but you can see right through them.
PHOTOCOPIERS: These are female, because once turned off; it takes a...
Well, after 2 e-mails to the company that sent me the wrong cage, i still haven't had a reply so i've decided to keep the cage.
I've just been messing about with decor and have got what i think is a nice set-up.
Could i have your opinions please on how i can improve it?
It's got fake plants...
Some self-evident truths about pets...
Buy a dog a toy and it will play with it forever. Buy a cat a present and it will play with the wrapper for 10 minutes.
Although cats are rather delicate creatures, and they are subject to a good many ailments, I never heard of one who suffered from...
Now, hears a rare chance for you to have a laugh at my expense lol
A few weeks ago i got on a horse for a friend, he bought her as a 6 year old broken to ride but not drive, so he asked me to get on her to see what she can do.
I'm not scared of any horse and will get on anything - this is...
I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with Indian stick insect eggs?
I've just bought some off e-bay so i can raise a good colony of sticks but i'm a bit confused on how to care for them.
I've googled a lot of info but different sites contradict each other.
One site says bury...
I haven't put Shiver in her new cage yet as i'm still waiting for a reply from company who sent it, but i have made a few changes to her present cage.
I have still got the UV D3 lamp but also got another lamp with a 60w bulb - her ambient temp is 73F and her basking temp is 88F.
I've noticed...
Well, i ordered a 22 gallon flexarium for Shiver - it arrived this morning.
The only problem is, it's not the 22 gallon that i ordered and payed for - it's the 65 gallon that's twice the price :D
Should i do the honest thing and inform the company of their mistake or should i keep hold of...
I've been searching for a mesh cage for Shiver and couldn't find any in local stores so i extended my search to the internet.
I've found a site selling them, there's a 22 gallon and a 38 gallon, here's the link to the 38 gallon...
Found out yesterday that the female hybrid i'm getting a pup off missed the pregnancy :(
One of my friends has a male Timber Wolf who served a 50% wolf/ 50% malamute - he has got another 50% female to serve this weekend so hopefully she'll take.
I've got pick of the litter but it's going...
Just curious now as to how much "bull" i've been told.
I was told not to feed black crickets as they bite - is this true? He also said not to feed meal worms ( didn't give me a reason ).
I'm currently feeding her brown crickets, small hoppers and waxworms. I've just ordered some curly wing...
After realising that the guy who sold Shiver to me told me a load of bull with regards to keeping chameleons i'm now unsure about using a substrate at the bottom of the cage.
I'm using some white stuff he said was ideal - i think it's coconut bark??
I was a bit unsure as surely she could...
Sounds like you guys have got some fantastic reptiles.
Unfortunately due to my parents not liking them i'm only just getting into the reptile scene.
Shiver is the latest addition to my ever-growing mad-house lol.
I've currently got 2 dogs, a wolf hybrid and a GSD mix - soon to be...
Hi everyone, i'm Karen from Preston UK.
I bought a female veiled 3 weeks ago and she's fantastic - i've called her Shiver.
Never kept any reptiles before and admittedly didn't know too much before i got her.
I've been reading as much as possible though and she's doing just great! :D...
