does it okay if i didnt use uv lights by just using the calcium +d3 powder every time he eats? coz i had broken my uv lamp. hee. :o or it would be better if i buy the new one?

it seems my chameleon is just green with dark green stripes, i wonder why he never changes his color. he just get darker and lighter with the temp change. and idk how old is he. his size is around 8" with its tail. any suggestion of age?
