Today I found one of my favorite chameleons, Munch, at the bottom of his cage. He was so tame that when I open his cage door, he'd come right over to check out what I may have had for him in his feed cup.
I don't know what happened. I am so sad.
When I was looking out of my window...
My Sambava has slipped out of his cage and is roaming around the sun room. The good things: the doors were closed and my dogs are never allowed in there.
The Bad: The sun room is big and full of green plants. Lots of hiding places!
I checked the feeder tubs and Tiger isn't there. I've...
Tiger is a big boy, about 18 months old now. He's a very calm cham, and has never hissed or gaped at me. But it's all over if he sees one of my other male chameleons.
Tiger's recent shed and in his "pajama colors"
I have some pop up cages that I put my chams in. I take these outdoors when the temperature is nice and it's sunny.
I wonder how stressful this is for them. I know they benefit from the real sunlight but everyone says how stressful things can be for chameleons. If I let them sun like this...
I took her to the vet on Friday and x rays confirmed that she was egg bound. She was given a shot and I took her home. Saturday I brought her in for another shot, took her home and let her rest in her darkened cage, with the laying bin on the cage bottom. Saturday night I carefully peeked in...
The photo is of my ambanja, Peach. It was taken a few months ago.
This morning I found an egg at the bottom of her cage. She has never been mated. I quickly put together an egg laying bin (thanks to Dez' video!) and put it back in her cage. I am a total newbie to this egg laying thing...
Here is my Nosy Be, "Munch" today. (Dez, remember him?) He's so tame that he comes right out of the cage when you open the door. He'll take superworms from your fingers. I think he thought the camera was something to eat. That's why he's so close to the lens. He is an awesome chameleon.
I just received an overnight shipment of 1000 crickets. Despite being double boxed, they appear to be dead-all of them. I thought I read something about them going dormant in the cold, so I emptied the box into my regular cricket bin and put the bin near a space heater inside my chameleon...
Anyone notice a difference between them? I've always gotten brown crickets until my last shipment, when I received black ones. My chams don't seem to care for the black ones. It seems to me that the black crickets aren't as active as the brown ones are. The black crickets seem to just hang...

I am so fed up with ordering...
