    Outdoor PVC enclosure build

My original plan was to use poultry mesh because I liked the idea of letting more sunlight into the cage. But then realized that there are lightning bugs where I live which are poisonous, so I need something that keeps insects out. Also had concerns of his tongue hitting the poultry mesh and...

    Outdoor PVC enclosure build

I am on the fence with how to handle locking the doors, I want to avoid cutting anything, if possible. I am thinking of maybe installing hooks from the top, one for each door, that I can hook/rest the doors onto when closed, and then use a slide-lock on the doors, locking them to each other, as...

    Outdoor PVC enclosure build

Thanks! I bought 4 T fittings, slightly over-sized (1" to fit over 3/4" PVC) to work as hinges. I had to cut off one arm of the T on each to reduce the gap to the frame, and then dremel out some material to make it large enough to slide over the elbow fitting. There is a slight door-to-frame...

    Outdoor PVC enclosure build

I have no idea why 2 of them are there to be honest, only 1 is in use. Maybe the empty ones are needed to stabilize/eliminate pressure in the house when the heat or AC is on? This floor was renovated after flooding from hurricane sandy, you'd think they would have closed up the holes if they...

    Custom Built Enclosure

Looks good so far, nice job. What are the dimensions? Where about in NJ are you? I'm in Monmouth county. I am working on a cage built out of PVC pipes. My plan is to use it outside in the summer and bring it inside for the winter. I originally planned on going 3 feet deep but I think it may be...

    Silkworm breeding advice

I forget the last time I cocooned, but read that they do get smaller. I unloaded around 100 worms to my local pet store yesterday. Next time I buy 250 eggs, I am only hatching 30 -50. But, if all goes to plan, I will have my own eggs and I can pull only as much as I need out of the fridge.

    Check out my setup

If it was me I would put something more comfortable up there for basking and UVB, like a branch he can relax on. And you also want to be careful not to give too much UVB, so if it's a fresh bulb I would space it out a bit, maybe 6-8"? You wouldn't want him within inches of the tube. My 14...

    Check out my setup

Looks good, I would maybe add some branches under/closer to the UVB, unless you've measured with a Solarmeter and found you are ok with the current branches/vines.

    Magickal Cham???

I'd definitely make sure there is nothing sharp. If a cricket or something is on or near an edge, the tongue could get cut.

    Omg omg finally

Also high in fat and super high in phosphorus. Ok as a snack. The chance of the superworm surviving the chews is slim.
