Hey guys: Herbie fell off the window (I think) And cut his foot.
I noticed a spot of blood on his cage and finally found what it was from. I can't see an opening but the pad of his foot is brused and has what looks like a blood blister.
He is in the process shedding and the skin hasn't come...
Sorry sweet heart!! try not to be too hard on your self. sometimes animals just get sick. I'm sure you were a good mom and you did do everything you could have possible done.
Keep your head up ;)
Love,
Lady Cham
In agreement with brad. I really think it has alot to do with territory and sexual maturity.
Herbie he was more aggressive when he was younger now he's mellowed out. but it's weird, every few month he'll become very territorial and strike at anything that comes in the room.
I think it has...
This link is really kool it tells you the nutritional value of different bugs snd whats best for the chams in different health states. you can even count calories. check it out. www.chameleonnews.com/year2002/sept2002/nutrition/nutrition_sept_02.html
Thank you all for the info and all the replies. It's so good to know that these are issues Chameleon owners are concerned about. You three seem to be pretty knowledgeable about the situation( even more so than I  ) and I really have a lot of respect for you all. I am truly interested...
Hey brad: thanks for asking about Herbie. He's been about the same not as good as last week though. It's really weird his eyes swell when he eats. After he gets a couple for bugs down you can see them start to fill with fluid. so I'm kind of concered about his weight. I think I'm going to try...
Hey Chamfreak:
If you interested There is another forum Reptile Room that has been discussing dwarf cham. The guy Tin is really knowledgeable, very trust worthy, and is in the process of setting up a colony of dwarf chams.
Here's the link if you want it.

I don't know much about the smaller guys but I was talking to someone that said in the wild Dwarf chams live in small colonies as well as with other kinds of leaf chams. Are pygmy the same as a dwarf or leaf chams?
In response to the breeder sites that were posted and at the risk of sounding radical- do you all support the industry of selling and importing wild chameleons?
I guess I am naive in a lot of ways. Herbie was give to me by a friend who bought him from a pet store. Which is bad enough, that we...
I found and interesting site Haven't look around on it to much. I think they just sale really good gut loads for all tipes of insects

Did they do any blood work? That is how they test for MBD. It's expensive but how whould they know for sure how to treat him. do you trust you vet? Not trying to raise unnecessary concern.
I don't know to much about it but it sounds like he has something in his eye and he's rotating his eye to expell it. if you look around on this forum you can find a lot of other chams with the same problem. brad and the other guys have a lot of good advice. You can also buy reptile eye...
I don't know if it what is wrong with him (poor Baby!) but your pothos plant is toxic if it's eaten. check to see if he's eaten any of it, if you can see any bites or leaves missing. I'm having issues with my cham and my vet wanted to make sure I didn't have any toxic plants. Ficus, ivy, and...
First and most important I'd try to get his temp up in his cage. Do you have A/C maybe he's under a vent. Make sure he can get to his basking light. Give him At least a day or two in temps above 85. if that doesn't do the trick you can try a little bit of mineral oil. You can get mineral oil...
i'm sure the temp is a lot highter under his basking light but I do know that reptiles need a temp of at lease 85 to digest food. has he gone to the bathroom sense you've brought him home? if not make sure he's drinking a good amount of water and try turning up the heat you can give him a drop...
