using the craft wire you could make a loop where the screen is, and then for the feeder cup, just make a hook with the wire. presto! you now have a removable feeder cup!
incredible! how long did it survive once you started the experiment? i noticed others did not read your post thoroughly, but i believe that you mentioned that it was breathing and you fed it water. did hydration help? i wonder if it is possible to raise a premature chameleon...
i could suffer the wounds but not the humping! lol. maybe they get all horny for our hands because they have nothing else to do? (i mean that in a literal sense too!!)
i wonder if it has to do with wearing dark colors? i don't know much about chameleon breeding but i think that a female has...
no other chameleons around. i have other reptiles, but they are all in different rooms so he is alone except for seeing me. perhaps it is just the season for lovin'. yuk!!
i will warn you before you read this, it isn't a pleasant topic for regular discussion!!
well now i am not completely sure as to how i should start this thread, but it has to do with my 9 month old veiled. just recently i have been letting him out of his cage for short visits - more often...
its wonderful news! i am glad to hear that everything is falling into place for your babies! and its so cute about your daughter feeding the female!!!!
silica is BAD!! please do not use anything with it near your chams. she will start digging when she feels ready. i have heard that it sometimes takes a week before she is comfortable enough to start digging, so try not to get worried. the more a cham is moved around, the more it stresses them...
is your measurement from the UVB tube right to the top of where your chameleon's head is? 3" may be too close. i believe that UVB lights have a 'burn in' time and should be placed slightly further away in the first week or so because they tend to have more powerful radiation. i think that i read...
my question to you is about the lighting :). you said that you have a repti-glo 5.0 tube. do you know how long it has been used for? they need to be changed a minimum of every 6 months because the UV output dissipates and is no longer effective. if you are unsure, i would do what others have...
THE SUN GLO DAYLIGHT BULB IS NOT UVB!! it is good that you got rid of the mv bulb, but you will still need to get a bulb that produces uvb. the day glo is great for basking light, but i would recommend you get a linear tube light like a reptisun 5.0 for the hood i saw in the picture. what size...
it think that they're so different! i definitely enjoyed the first one more, it seemed to intensify the blues and reds dramatically. in your opinion which picture is more true to life the way you see it through your own eyes then?
the hibiscus plant is completely edible to chameleons (if they choose to take a nibble) and it does well with lots of sunlight. in good conditions, it can flower almost all year round!
CONGRATS on the new cham!
ah. well size specific, my veiled is almost full grown at 8-9 months old and he is about 5.5" from nose to butt (not including the tail). i have him in a rather large cage 25" deep X30" wide X61" tall. the females can be in a much smaller enclosure like 18"X18"X36" as the minimum size. the...
