I technically have 2 vets but one was on vacation and the only one in her office who worked with ALL reptiles and the other one wasn’t able to see me sooner than 2 months. There was a third vet but she was an hour and a half away and the vet tech was way too rough with my chameleon in the past.
Thank you so much. I love seeing the animals and products at the NARBC but it is really overwhelming and stressful for me since I’m small and get shoved around a lot. I talked to a lot of the vendors and they all said that there were only 3 or 4 booths that sold chameleons. I was able to find 3...
Almost all of the exotic vets I have called do not work with chameleons and have all refused to take us as clients. There was one vet who agreed to take us but books appointments 2 months out and I wasn’t able to get him in before he died.
On March 16, 2025 at the NARBC Tinley Park, I purchased a male Tamatave panther chameleon through New Moon Reptiles.
The man who owns the company was pretty nice when I met him and seemed genuinely excited about the chameleons. He told me that he was not a chameleon breeder but he works with a...
I don’t have any other pets. I have some goofy painting but he’s never been bothered by them before. The only animal on the wall is that painting of squidward (bold and brash?)
The mirror is next to his enclosure so he has no way of seeing it. He is not close enough to the windows to see his...
It’s not even at night. The sun sets at like 4 pm and he definitely does not go to bed that early. I NEVER turn the lights on past his bedtime. It will be like 3 hours before his bedtime and anytime the lamp is on, he gets anxious. He is a purple bar ambilobe panther and when he’s nervous he...
My panther chameleon (~2 years old) gets anxious when I have to turn on a lamp in my bedroom. My bedroom doesn’t have lights so I have to use lamps and the windows so I don’t really have much of a choice at once the sun sets. Has anyone else experienced this?
Hi everyone,
I got accepted into an amazing college and will be transferring there to finish my bachelor’s degree. I will not be living in a dorm since I will be coming in as a junior. The problem is that this school is halfway across the country and I need to drive there; it is a 22-23 hour...
I posted my set up in the past and had people get really upset that I had the lights resting on the top of the enclosure since ~it’s too close and he’d never get that kind of exposure in the wild~
So I added the pots to lift it up
The zen habitat enclosure I got FROM THE COMPANY was highkey...
This sounds stupid but how do you guys have your lighting set up?
I have my linear uvb resting on unoccupied plant pots (they’re short and square) to get the distance needed and have the basking bulb being held up with a clamp light also attached to the planter.
It’s not the sturdiest set up...
So I'm just trying things out to see what my male, 1.5-ish year old ambilobe pather chameleon would like more...
He is in love with his bird ladder and really likes the plants so he can hide and feel secure (mood tbh). I know that chameleons typically prefer to hide amongst the leaves but I was...
So I was thinking of putting up just one piece that was like 15x24 on the back of the enclosure to see if he would want to climb on it. I just didn’t know if anyone had any experience with them and their chameleons
I’m just curious to see if you guys think a male panther chameleon would use one these fake plant mats. He’s between 1-2 years old and has never tried to eat the plants in his enclosure (live and fake)
