I adore my large breeder series. I don't have experience with the keeper series, but with the enclosed sides of the breeder, the humidity is lot easier to keep.
Before ordering or starting a colony, I strongly suggest that you buy a very small amount for you cham to "taste test". You would probably be very disappointed and frustrated if you got an entire colony set up, but he hated them and only ate a couple here and there. Most of the time Emoji (my...
Well, there could be many other reasons regarding her health, but most likely she is just making the typical "back off!" noise. It sounds like a little sneeze and is usually followed by stress colors, hissing, "blowing up", or just being generally annoyed. If you want to, you can fill out the...
Honestly, after 3+ months, it's not an enormous shock, especially if there was a chance that it wasn't completely sealed at one point. Discard the food immediately. I would even recommend "quarantining" any crickets that had access to the mites and get new ones. I've found that the Repashy...
Most definitely go with DragonStrand! The price is worth it, trust me. I just recently upgraded Emoji's home to a DragonStrand large breeder series. It's great! I'm not saying anything agaist the exo terra, which I've never used, I just know how much I love my DragonStrand!
I don't mean to be a pest, but you really need to revamp your entire setup. First off, chameleons do much better in vertically oriented screen cages, rather than tanks. This allows for air flow and ventilation and more climbing space. Second, substrate is a big no no. It can easily cause...
Well... I didn't exactly have the greatest experience with Fedex when my Emoji was shipped to me. He was rerouted to Indianapolis during transport and sat there almost the whole night. Then, they couldn't find the box when we called them, like 50 times. He didn't come into our possession...
11 months old... Just as I expected. I'm pretty sure that looking slightly skinny and kind of awkward is normal for that age. I would try to add some fresh veggies and fruits to your gut loading, as they have more nutrition than some repackaged gutloads.
I wouldn't suggest feeding waxworms to "fatten him up". Waxworms are fatty, true, but they have no nutrition, which is what you want to give him. Some better options would be: silkworms, butterworms, hornworms, superworms, roaches... Etc... Also, make sure feeders are properly and well...
I feel the same way about ficus. The best plan that I've used so far is hibiscus. It works well in the cage as long as you switch it out, say, every week, with a duplicate. Shefflera and pothos also get my thumbs up.
