So he just did what sounded to be a cough or a sneeze while he was sleeping.. I checked on him right after and he was still asleep but propped up.. Then he lowered himself back down to sleeping posture. All with his eyes closed. His mouth was closed too.
So I just bought this temp gun off of amazon and realized the picture is completely different than the one on the tempgun.com website... Did I get an older model or something

My basking light is 60 watts. It sits elevated a couple inches from the top. My uvb tube is right next to it laying directly on top of the cage. His basking branch is about 5-6 inches down.
Wattage comes into consideration. If higher watt bulb u may have to elevate more. I get about 87-92...

Maybe Its the humidity but its usually 50-70 percent. I have a aquazamp in the mail as well. His urates are perfect with lots of white. He drinks like a champ too.
I really hope I can rule out the RI I'll see if things change when he gets his automated misting system
That could explain the...
Every way possible man. Hand feeeding. Cup feeding. I even have a feeding cup with mesh they run up and he still doesn't want them. He just loves his supers he eats them right out of my gfs hand. So I'm going to try the strike thing I guess.
BTW spork do you have any silkies available I have...
OKay. I think I am going to try 4 days and then show him some.
He is due for panacur on the 16th as well anyways.. I forgot to mention he was on that 2 weeks ago for a small case of single celled parasite(I forget the name).. it wasn't anything major though, he was eating fine while on it as...
I will definitely do that and keep it posted on the forums. I have been trying to get a pic of the saliva believe me but every time I go to take the picture he shuts it.. haha its frustrating
You guys have been helpful so thanks. I will update with more if symptoms get worse. Don't worry I...
When I handle him he constantly wants to climb. At the same time I can hear him breathing heavily like if we were sprinting or something.. Just the sound of him breathing literally. But that's the only time I hear it. His saliva is more than a few strands.. But sometimes its not there at all...
Yes that could be. But the saliva is what has me worried as well as the hard breathing when he's being handled. I guess I'll see if anything gets noticeably worse
I see the saliva sometimes in the morning. Not usually anytime after that. He gapes when I come by really wide but I was talking about him just leaving his mouth open enough to breathe, and ever since I lowered my temps a few degrees he does it a lot less it feels like.
Huffing is from his...
That's what I wanted to do. But Dr. Greek is seriously the best vet for a chemeleon I can find in this area.. He's all over this forum as well. For southern California at least.
I don't want to question his knowledge but i'm just terribly worried.
Well despite me worrying about him not getting enough food. I will try and starve him for a few days again. I tried 3 days before but maybe more is necessary as you pointed out.
Its bizarre to me that hornworms were once his favorite and now he won't touch them.Same goes with Dubia's
Only...
About 3 weeks ago I thought my panther chameleon Ned had an RI
Here's the symptoms he had at the time and still has:
-really stringy saliva and bubbles (not all the time)
-strong forced exhales (seen him do it a couple times- louder than a hiss by far)
-Gaping (maybe that's because I'm...
My 10 month old panther Ned refuses to eat any feeder but super worms for about a week and a half now. I've tried hornworms ,dubia, and crickets. He used to eat all of these and now hisses when I present them to him. He went three days without eating anything and then I gave in and he instantly...
I have bug burer, dino fuel raptor, cricket crack. and one of sandras recipes.
In the crickets mind.. cricket crack>sandras recipe>bug burger>dino fuel raptor
I just rotate all of them on a weekly basis but the crickets seem to like the cricket crack the best(I get it moist).. people say...
My cham poops about once a day.. it's always in the same spot So I just take a wet paper towel with some suds on it and wipe it off the leaf.. let the suds sit there for like 5 minutes.. then rinse. My plants are stuck in my enclosure unless I take all the vines out (it's like a jungle).. So...
