this is what i do too ferret! i have a slightly bigger version of this that holds 1000 plus! took me a few tries to get it right, first i didn't have enough vents, then i had the NON metal screen too.....crickets escaped EVERYWHERE, i didn't sleep for a week! like you said the more...
I use it as a good test of peoples character! Depending on how people react to their knowledge of my reptile keeping, i will make serious assumptions of their personality! HAHA....seriously though i do...
I also believe you can tell a lot about a person by how they treat animals!!
might be hard and dangerous to get a cham shipped now that it is getting FREEZING outside but here is a link to a pet store you might be able to get a ride to

Here is my experience....i keep my 2 panthers and male veiled in screen cages and NOW my jackson's in a 18x18x36 glass terrarium with screen top and ventilation on front near the bottom. I am new to keeping chameleons and it was 2 years ago that I bought my first, being the jacksons. At that...
i just recently got a trio of pygmies and did and am still doing TONS of research. What i have learned is lighting is complicated when trying to get a definitive answer (is there really such a thing?) I went with a used reptisun 5.0 for lighting. As for your question, i came to the conclusion...
i had already tried these guys, play sand is seasonal here, which i think is dumb, i had this same problem last winter looking for a small desk fan...literally nobody had any as they were 'seasonal' items!...but they can get it shipped to the store next week for me (wal-mart that is).
also i...
cool that might be easier for me, i guess what i should have specified is what mixture people have used that doesnt have play sand as in ingredient, for i would rather not have to order it. but if it is the best i shall concede and order it!
hello all, i just upgraded my female to a bigger enclosure and am going to be putting a laying bin in there for her now! My question now is what mixture of stuff to put in there! I read a lot of people using 50/50 soil/play sand...my question is what else can be used? I would have to order...
incubator = your fridge
when you get eggs freshly laid give them a week to see if they hatch, some might, most likely they wont...then put them in the fridge for a month before taking out an hatching again.
I would still try! What I have learned is that after eggs are laid some will hatch right away, within a week of being laid. The ones that don't hatch i put in the fridge for a month or two as i need em....i would definitely put them in the fridge for a month and see what happens!
yea i would take them out and give em a week or two to hatch, i love keeping silkies! i bought eggs over a year ago and now am on the 4th generation of those eggs, besides the chow they cost me nothing!
would the male leave her alone if she was gravid already? she is much larger than the other potential female that is the only reason i suspected she might be gravid.
since posting this my suspected male mounted female #2 and their might have been copulation, she may even be gravid? SO i guess the question now is female #1 really a female and does female #2 look gravid.
okay i jumped the gun guys i was planning on getting these guys next week.....but they are just too darn cute and i got the day off so they came home today! my first bearded pygmies! So! I THINK i have down who's who when it comes to gender but i crave confirmation...here we go!
